REPORTS TO: Senior Manager/Associate Director
The role involves the following responsibilities in relation to assigned business group:
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring integrity and completeness of financial records.
- Preparation and review responsibilities of following work performed by the team involving accounting functions for one or more clients:
- Month end accounting,
- Balance sheet account reconciliations
- Reporting and analysis for business units
- Budgeting and forecasting activities for fund/ business area
- Consolidation and preparation of annual and half-year financial statements/ reports
- Preparation and review of annual report ensuring integrity and completeness of financial records
- Ensuring compliance to regulatory and statutory requirements
- Monitoring compliance with the financial requirements of the Australian Financial Services Licences of the management entity
- Liaising with auditors (internal & external) and responding to their queries
- Leading and managing team, showing career path and doing effective appraisals
- Managing client relationship and handle first level escalations
- Proactively seeking client feedback to further improve service level standards
- Designing and generating MIS regularly highlighting key metrics for the team and work
- Continuously innovate with focus to improve process – enhance efficiencies and add value
- Ensuring compliance with finance control standards for the reporting entity.
- Ensuring quality consciousness in all aspects of the team
- To apply cost conscious approach towards work responsibilities handled
KEY SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. Business Knowledge
- Experience in financial services and exposure to financial accounting and statutory reporting in a service industry environment preferred
2. Leadership Skills
- Provides direction for people, projects and/or processes
- Delegates tasks and responsibility while providing support
3. Interpersonal Skills
- Conveys complex messages confidently to people at all levels
- Anticipates the needs of others and adapts own behaviour to build stronger relationships

- Strong customer service ethic, proactively understanding client requirements and maintaining good relationship with the clients. Exhibits a ‘client comes first’, attitude at all times.
- Comfortable working with teams at remote locations.
5. Technical Specialist SkillsTeam orientation
- Good technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and/or IFRS. Some knowledge of financial markets may be helpful, however not essential.
- Strong team player.
6. Planning & Organizing
- Well organised, self starter who can manage a range of competing priorities and projects
- Creates, manages and monitors detailed project plans which may include scope, responsibilities, timeframes and/or budget
- Develop and implement contingency plan
- Ability to work in a virtual global team, and manage cross-border relationships effectively.
7. Quality Focus
- Implements quality assurance practices to ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness of team output.
QUALIFICATIONS & BACKGROUND/WORK EXPERIENCE
- Postgraduate/ professional accounting qualification, preferably CA or CPA
- Minimum 5-9 years of post CA qualification experience including 4+ years of people management experience
- Willingness to travel overseas
- Willingness to work in different time zones to support clients.
- A strong background of Financial Accounting and Reporting Services is essential, inclusive of public accounting firm experience (preferably Big 4)
