The Opportunity :

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fund Tax Manager to join our growing team! In this critical role, you'll play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance for our hedge fund clients.

You'll leverage your deep understanding of US and potentially international tax regulations to prepare complex returns, manage client relationships, and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities :

Tax Preparation & Review :

- Prepare and review complex US federal and state tax returns for hedge funds, including Form 1065, K-1s, and other -relevant schedules.

- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and tax treaties.

- Calculate partnership allocations for Schedule K-1 reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to footnote disclosure requirements.

- Review and revise tax deliverables before submission, maintaining the highest quality standards.

Client Management & Collaboration:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hedge fund clients, providing clear communication and expert guidance on tax matters.

- Work collaboratively with internal teams (Accounting, Audit) to ensure seamless tax compliance processes.

- Participate in client meetings and address their inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

Team Leadership & Development:

- Supervise and mentor junior team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment.

- Assign tasks effectively, providing clear instructions and ongoing feedback for development.

- Contribute to training initiatives, sharing your knowledge and expertise with the team.

Qualifications:

- CPA or equivalent professional designation.

- 5+ years of experience in tax preparation and compliance for complex investment structures, with a focus on hedge funds.

- In-depth understanding of US federal and state taxation regulations, including partnership taxation (Form 1065) and K-1 preparation.

- Familiarity with international tax considerations and relevant treaties (optional, but a plus).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and interpret complex tax laws.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

- Leadership experience and a passion for mentoring and developing junior team members (preferred).

- Proficiency in tax preparation software (e. , CCH, GoSystem, K-1)
