Fund Manager - Fixed Income (VP). Only Insurance industry candidates from Treasury need to apply. Job Objective: - Investments department is a profit center, responsible for investment performance of all policyholders and shareholders' funds. All investment portfolios are managed in-house. The department is headed by CIO - Investments and has two verticals namely Equity and Fixed Income. - The Fixed Income Unit Linked Fund Manager is responsible for formulating and presenting economic and financial market overview and evolve strategies for the Unit Linked Portfolios. The Fund Manager is expected to manage Fixed Income portfolio and generate market related returns consistent with the respective benchmark with the objective of the top-quartile fund performance among the peers. - The role involves formulating and implementing portfolio investment strategies, carrying out macroeconomic, industry and company research to create model portfolios. It also involves nurturing and developing resources in the investment team and prepare them for future assignments. - The role involves co-coordinating with the investment research team at our distributors and communicate our investment performance as well as strategy across all funds. Fund performance vis a vis Benchmark and peers shall be communicated regularly with the stakeholders. The performance also analyses the schemes from a risk perspective in line with the pre-agreed framework of the distributor. - The profile involves ensuring all statutory and regulatory compliance in adherence with, risk management and other internal mandates especially in light of the current regulatory changes in the insurance industry. - This involves assessing impact of changes in regulations both in case of existing as well as proposed products, gathering industry views on the same and proposing appropriate changes if any. - The role involves providing support and being backup of Fund Manager - Fixed Income (Non Linked funds) - The role involves maintaining liaison with investment professionals amongst the peers and keep abreast with peers strategies, discuss impact of new regulatory changes and make coordinated industry efforts in making representations to the regulator as well as any third party vendors. - The role also involves maintaining a healthy working relationship with the treasury at our promoter banks so as to keep an ongoing exchange of views on current market trends as well as exploring ways to add value to our policyholders' funds. - The role is also responsible for reporting periodically on Fixed Income Fund performance to the Treasury and Investment Group (TIG) a group of executive management and board subcommittee overseeing the investment function, the Investment Committee (IC). Major Challenges: - The job requires proactive approach and in-depth understanding of the Indian Financial system, global macro-economy and market behavior to policy changes. - Understanding the emerging regulatory and competitive landscape and its impact on investment function and overall business. Qualifications and Work Experience: Highly skilled job of fund management. A Chartered Accountant/CFA degree or an MBA from premier business school with minimum 12 years of relevant experience in a Life insurance front office is a pre-requisite for this role. It is a critical role and has direct contribution to the organisation growth and profitability and shareholder and policyholder returns.
