Job Description:
- In-depth knowledge of Insurance domain including policy life cycle, contract management, claim processing, commissions & disbursement, reinsurance, etc. in Property & Causality / Life & Annuities Insurance domains
- Propose changes and improvements to the product with a clear vision about the end results.
- Capable of independently handling multiple modules in the insurance product, including but not limited to business rules, document printing, and workflows
- Assist in the design of the software configuration and customization to meet the business process design and application requirements
- Works in collaboration with business development, technical resources, developer resources and client teams to ensure the architectural integrity and long term supportability of proposed and implemented solutions
- Works in close collaboration with the Applications Core Competence Center and participates and contributes to the Architecture Review Committee
- Prepare Ideas, PoCs & papers at relevant architecture conferences
- Tailor communication and convey complex ideas in a concise manner to a diverse set of audiences and venues.
- Perform workshop facilitation, preparation of deliverables, project administration, proposal preparation and sales support
- Provide support for proposal development, development of business leads and sales presentations
- Utilize functional skills to tailor and deliver demos to fit demonstrated client needs as part of the Business Development process
- Provide application design consulting support to functional and development lead roles within project teams
- Provides estimates, timelines, resource plans, designs and testing procedures
- Confer with clients to define functional business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development
- Lead client workshops on training and administration of new programs, applications and databases
- Gauge the effectiveness for efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
- Proficient in gathering Business Requirements, Gap Analysis, Solution conceptualization, solution architecture and functional design
- Should be able to understand the data models-logical, physical, run basic SQLs (Insert, Update)
Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills:
- 12-15 years of overall experience having with a minimum of 5+ years as a functional architect in an Insurance product-based organization. Candidates with an initial development background in Java / Mainframe technologies preferred.
- Bachelor in Engineering/MCA/M.sc/ M.S./ MBA in Systems, IT or Insurance or Finance
- Experience in Insurance Product development with a focus on building a product road map and, defining the product strategy
- Display a high level of understanding of architectural and enterprise design patterns
- In-depth understanding of data structures
- Demonstrate sound Architectural thinking and thought leadership.
- Expertise in design methodologies and business functions
- Experience in end-to-end Business Process Analysis and Requirement Gathering at the enterprise level
- Domain Certification like AINS, ALMI, FLMI, CPCU, LOMA, etc.
- Experience in SQL, Test case writings and database basics
- Must have the conceptual understanding of java or object-oriented languages based programing
- Experience in Product like Life Asia 400, Duck Creek, Guidewire, Ingenium, Performance Plus would be an advantage
- Experience in the implementation of product and legacy migration/modernization.
