Fretron - Manager - Equity Research

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Equity Research Manager to lead our equity research team.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of financial markets, and a proven track record in equity analysis.

This role involves managing a team of analysts, developing investment strategies, and providing critical insights to guide the firm's investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

- Lead and mentor a team of equity research analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

- Provide guidance on research methodologies, financial modeling, and investment analysis.

- Manage the workflow and ensure timely delivery of quality research reports and analysis.

Equity Research & Analysis:

- Oversee the analysis of individual stocks, sectors, and macroeconomic trends to provide actionable investment insights.

- Prepare detailed financial models and forecasts to support buy, sell, or hold recommendations.

- Conduct thorough fundamental analysis, including reviewing company financials, management, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.

- Regularly update research reports, highlighting key investment thesis and changes in outlook based on new data.

Investment Strategy Development:

- Contribute to the development of equity investment strategies and portfolio recommendations.

- Work closely with portfolio managers and investment teams to align research with broader investment objectives.

- Assess market conditions, economic indicators, and geopolitical events to influence investment decisions.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction:

- Present research findings and investment recommendations to senior management, investment committees, and clients.

- Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, clients, and sell-side analysts.

- Provide market commentary and respond to client queries on individual stocks, sectors, and market trends.

Market & Industry Trends:

- Stay current on developments in financial markets, economic policy, and industry trends to ensure research remains relevant.

- Monitor competitor research, evaluate alternative investment approaches, and apply best practices to enhance research processes.

Reporting & Documentation:

- Ensure that all research reports are comprehensive, clear, and accurately document the rationale behind investment decisions.

- Prepare presentations and written reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.

Qualifications:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

- A Master's degree (MBA, MS in Finance) or CFA designation is preferred.

Experience:

- 4+ years of equity research experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.

- Strong experience in financial modeling, valuation, and analysis.

- Deep understanding of financial statements, industry-specific metrics, and economic indicators.
