Job Summary

The Manager has the overall responsibility of ensuring compliance with NAV Analysis policies and procedures, internal control requirements and regulatory requirements. The Manager oversees the daily, monthly and periodic work completed by the NAV Analysis and/or Investment Accounting Teams, which includes ensuring that daily NAV- s, distribution factors, and tax calculations are completed accurately in accordance with established deadlines. The Manager provides overall guidance to the teams for issues related to accounting treatment, complex securities, escalated system issues and direction when needed. The Manager further has the responsibility of working on special projects and assignments as needs dictate. Where applicable, Managers would oversee, facilitate & coordinate Team initiated projects and contribute to the Team leadership.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities

Work with staff to ensure timely and accurate release of NAV, distribution factors, and tax calculations.

Assist in the resolution of complex accounting issues occurring within the funds.

Make critical decisions regarding system issues and interfaces and troubleshoot problems as they arise.

Sign off on NAV impacts greater than stated thresholds.

Monthly and Periodic Responsibilities

Review of department internal control procedures, including certification of ICMs/Flowcharts for NAV Production and business overview documentation for Fund QARC

Ensure that deadlines to internal or external clients are met, by submitting metric reporting and monitoring online dashboards or offline work tools

Leadership and Development

Provide overall planning and direction for Direct Reporting Teams by monitoring core tasks and key deliverables

Provide oversight for staff development which includes, ensuring adequate training and development by conducting training needs analysis and performance appraisals

Provide support to Global NAV Production as it relates to jurisdictional accounting guidelines or complex product awareness

Establish, promote and maintain a productive, efficient and professional working environment demonstrating a motivational outlook and leading by example

Promote a "Global Team" culture within Franklin Templeton Services to leverage job knowledge and create and implement processes to promote consistency

Responsible for local recruitment needs and utilize employee recognition initiatives to attract and retain talent

Liaise with HR where appropriate to ensure all employee relations issues are addressed efficiently and policy and procedures are adhered to

Support Direct Reporting Supervisors in carrying out day to day staff issues

Other Responsibilities

Leads departmental projects and lead or participate in cross-departmental projects

Where applicable, oversee Team initiated global & local projects

Ensure that product initiatives are executed smoothly, incorporated into NAV Production workflows and procedure/training delivered for complex products

Liaise with FTT resources, FTS PMO and NBS (or any other business partners) to plan/develop workflows to support new products, mergers, RIKs and TIKs

Facilitate communication/meetings with key clients regarding hand-offs or adhoc requests

Liaise with internal/external audit to oversee NAV Analysis audit requirements

Coordinate with business partners and develop SLAs to measure service provided

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

- A college diploma/university degree in accounting/business or equivalent experience is required for this position

- Graduate level accounting, finance or business courses would be viewed favorably

- Extensive Department Management and supervisory experience is required

- Knowledge with automated financial systems, including general ledger, is required

- Completion of local Regulatory Security Courses

- Professional qualification in finance, accounting or management (CPA, Merit Awards, HNC, HND, CMA, and CFA) would be viewed favorably

- Strong analytical and organization skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

- Individual needs to be deadline focused

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Flexibility throughout all aspects of the individual's daily work, specifically during disaster recovery periods

- Ability to analyze problems and determine and/or recommend resolutions

- Works under limited supervision.

- Solves problems of difficult scope and complexity, refers to policies and practices for guidance

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

- Department leader manages multiple NAV teams

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

- May be required for cross boarder team management, service reviews and/or business continuity events
