General Manager - Business Unit Operations - Hospitality Division
Formula Advisory Network (www.formulaadviosry.com) is a consulting firm that offers outsourced financial and accounting Human Resources to Chartered Accounting firms and Businesses worldwide. We currently have a General Manager's position available in our Hospitality Business Unit Division.
The GM will be primarily responsible for taking a leadership role of the Hospitality Division in our Formula office with regards to adherence to policies and procedures and quality of client work. They will be expected to be an individual whose professionalism and knowledge allows all of Formula's stakeholders to feel comfortable in approaching and trusting their judgment. The GM will be able to utilise their proven skills in engagement execution, client interaction and business development to support key stakeholders add value to their clients. The GM will also be required to proactively build relationships with internal staff at Formula.
The GM must meet the following requirements or experience:
- Candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in a BPO environment, process driven work with proven client relationship, team leader and management skills.
- Expert understanding of Human Resource and Industrial Relations legislation applicable to the Accounting and Finance Sector in India.
- Expertise in Human Resource Management including performance management, salary setting, leave management and conflict resolution.
- Expertise in preparing, reviewing and filing statuary monthly and quarterly return for multiple clients.
- Expertise in preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements with variance analysis for multiple clients.
- Experience working in payroll, account payables and receivables processes.
- Preferably someone who has completed their CA, but not essential.
- Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience with Australian accounting, taxation and clients, preferable but not essential.
- Should be able to train and motivate a young team.
- The role includes daily interactions with International clients so the candidate must have impeccable English and communication skills, both written and verbal, and understand the importance of managing client expectations.
- The ability to manage and prioritise workflow accordingly.
- Have the drive to progress within the firm.
- Exposure to management responsibilities and mentoring of junior staff.

- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to quality service and client relationships.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Flexibility to travel to Australia. Passport essential.
The Hospitality Division at Formula consists of 35 team members working for PKF Hospitality Sydney (- PKFHS- ) https://www.pkf.com.au/Our-Services/Industry-Sectors/Hospitality . The GM will work very closely with Anthony Sullivan https://www.pkf.com.au/About-Us/People-Search/Anthony-Sullivan and Mitch Stone https://www.pkf.com.au/About-Us/People-Search/Mitch-Stone from PKFHS but will report directly to Formula's COO and CEO, Kranthi Kiran Bommu and Michael O- Sullivan. The GM will also have team members reporting directly to him from the PKFHS Team at Formula.
PKFHS is an award winning practice located in the heart of the financial district in the city of Sydney. PKFHS is part of the PKF International Network which consists of firms with offices in 440 cities and 150 countries world-wide.
The PKFHS team consists of 40 staff. 5 in the Sydney office and 35 in our Formula office in Hyderabad.
The role will entail managing a team of 35 staff whose daily tasks include:
1. Payroll preparation.
2. Payroll payment.
3. Processing supplier invoices.
4. Reconciling supplier invoices.
5. Paying supplier invoices.
6. Sale data entry.
7. Reconciling sales.
8. Bank reconciliations.
9. Credit card reconciliations.
10. Debtor management.
11. Debtor reconciliations.
12. Preparation of monthly Management and Analytic reports.
13. Preparation of work papers substantiating management report balances.
The GM's responsibilities will include:
1. Recruitment new staff
2. Population of a new customers team
3. Sourcing the IT platform
4. Servicing the IT platform
5. Maintaining the Hardware
6. Resolving service issues with ASPs
7. Managing the employment Administration inclusive of leave, career path planning
a) Leave, career path planning
b) Sick leave,
c) Performance management,
d) Salary setting, reviewing and paying
e) Performance Review scheduling and conduct
8. Defining the Culture that binds all BUs
9. Induction of all new employees
10. Training on the Formula offer
11. Providing a Formula perspective on career paths
12. Social events and team building
13. Transport and travel
14. Building and managing the Rhythm of engagement with the client
15. All the Rhythm of engagements are properly co-ordinated
16. Provide a built environment that allows the team to be productive, safe and comfortable
17. Setting, communicating and defending customer service standards
18. Ensuring Client leads are clear on and meeting their obligations to the client
