Flipkart - Process Specialist - Transportation - Line Haul OD - SCM

Responsibilities:

People

- Effectively collaborates cross-functionally in assigned region and between peers

Purpose

- Create, Own and Improve Standard Work & SOPs in the assigned work area. Work closely with peers in Lean and IE to reduce cycle time and elimination of waste

- Design & Implementation of Process and Work flows in assigned work area factoring in data and information flow with and across value chains

- Document Regulatory Compliance related aspects of Line Haul operations (Air and Surface Transport). Provide recommendations to operations based on thorough understanding of Inter and Intrastate regulations, taxes, tolls and permits requirement

- Work closely with Technology and Product teams on designing effective Transportation Management System (TMS) solution and Implementation across various nodes/sites

- Design effective solutions for Order to Pay (OTP) and Freight Rate Negotiation for Line Haul Operations

- Work closely with Operations, Legal team, Vendors on Implementation of End-to-End process and workflows for Cargo Insurance

- Works with Quality team to Implement effective monitoring of Standard Work adherence and initiate appropriate CAPA

- Develops a problem-solving culture where problems are made visible and fixed at the root cause

Process

- Works 50% - 70% of the time in Gemba (the work site) to understand and solve problems where they occur, with the people (operations) who live with the problems every day

- Continuously challenge Status Quo - for improvement

- Practices and teaches fundamental problem solving (PDCA) to find problems, define them, fix them and keep them from coming back

- Supports and leverages process for sharing best practices across locations

Desired skills and experience:

- Strong experience in - Process Driven- environment and implementation in a world-class organization and some experience building an organization in a division or start-up company

- 6-8 years of overall work experience; Lean and/or Six Sigma deployment is a plus

- Experience is ISO and related Process Standardization methodologies

- Green or Brown Field Start up experience a plus (must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, creating structure and working in an fast-paced ever changing environment

- BS degree or better (Industrial / Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, Production etc.)
