Summary:
Travel is one of the biggest e-comm categories. Travel ticketing ecosystem constitutes of Flights, Train, Bus, Railways & Hotels. Flipkart will be launching Travel as a Category with specific industry partners. We are looking for a category head for this role. The position will work closely with external clients, internal marketing & product teams to construct, execute and scale the category for Flipkart.
Business strategy
Know the Industry : Strong knowledge of the industry & their ways of working is essential to succeed in this role
Know the customer: Deeply understand customer behaviour, develop new customer insights and target the right TG for the category
Own the business: Own the P&L, understand where opportunities are and create a viable business to service them
Manage the Offers, promotions, ONO, CRM and marketing measures to maximize for the Top Lin of Category
Know the market: Stay on top of trends in an ever-changing landscape, find opportunities and prioritize based on size, internal capabilities, etc.
Know the competition: Understand on-line and off-line players. Ensure Flipkart selection stays well ahead of competition
Influence the leadership: Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional leadership and drive the changes required
Partner Management :
- Develop deep and long standing relationship with the Partner - to drive relationships from the strategic to the tactical
- Own the terms of business with the partner - products launches, offer constructs, CX handshakes, Cancellations, Accounting closures, etc.
- Ensure high-share of mind from the partner. Build deep ties.
- Persuade the partner to for disruptive changes for the category
Liaisoning -
- External facing - liaisoning with Travel Partner Ecosystem (On-boarding+ Partner Category Management)
- People leadership
- Build, retain and groom a strong team to deliver category growth
- Set goals, define KPIs and ensure team tracks effectively towards goals
