The Strategy team facilitates the development of long term growth strategy, and high-impact operational decisions. The team also evaluates potential inorganic plays such as strategic investments, M&A and partnerships with relevant players. It leverages fact based analyses and consumer insights to generate practical recommendations for key decision makers across the Flipkart Group companies.
The team reports to the COO and works directly with the top management of Flipkart. The team collaborates with leaders across functions to ensure seamless execution of recommended strategic initiatives.
Position Description & Major Responsibilities
Associate Director, Strategy will work closely with the Head, Corporate Strategy - Flipkart, and will be responsible for one or more of the following areas.
- Own and develop the long-term 2020 strategy for Flipkart
- Create and drive organic growth strategies involving new category launches, customer and seller acquisition, service differentiation, growing the share of wallet through deep consumer insights etc.
- Incubate new businesses such as financial services, services marketplace, international expansion
- Develop investment thesis for strategic investments, M&A and strategic partnerships
- Drive competitive and market insights
- Support the fund raising activities, investor meets and board reviews
- Drive implementation of key initiatives for growth, customer experience, operational effectiveness and service
This role will provide a great launch pad for moving into impactful operational / product / P&L role over a period of time.
Qualifications
- MBA from a Top Tier business school in India / abroad
- 6-9 years of relevant work experience, with 4+ years in blue chip management consulting firm
- Prior experience in e-commerce / retail / consumer goods / supply chain will be a plus (but not required)

- Able to independently scope, define and lead cross-functional projects and own responsibility of outcomes
- Strong problem solving, quantitative and qualitative analytical skills,
- Excellent attention to detail and strong business judgement
- Proficiency in market research, program management and managing cross-functional teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to present in senior management settings
