Instructional Designer provides the team with course design support in creating effective and engaging learning environments informed by desired learning outcomes.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Instructional Designer function pertains to presenting any defined/expected process or procedure Presentable form in Digital Format while adhering to certain standards of Layout, Structure, and Formats.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Create/Format the content of manuals as per the standards
- Provides instructional design support to faculty through consultation with individuals and collaborative course design teams.
- Assists Trainers in the development of course materials for delivery of ILT, WBT, hybrid, and blend online courses.
- Assists faculty with conversion of face-to-face courses to hybrid and online formats.
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
- Work with subject matter experts to identify the target audiences training needs
- Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
- Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product
- Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, gamification, Microlearning etc)
- Devise modes of assessment, such as Gamified assessments, Scenario-based assessments and quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course and to evaluate the learning outcome of the learner.
- Maintain project documentation and course folders
- Responsible for editing and formatting all procedure manual updates for the existing projects.
- Collect regular feedback from Leads and implement changes.
- Suggest improving and simplification of the existing document.
- Knowledge and usage of industry-standard documentation tools and guidelines.
Skills Required:
- Previous working experience in instructional design for (2-5) years
- In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
- Visual design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro) (Articulate 360 & Vyond will be an added advantage)
- Ability to write effective & engaging content, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
Technical Knowledge
- MS Visio
- Authoring tool (Articulate, Adobe Captivate, I Spring suite)
- Graphic Design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator.,)
- Video creating tools (Vyond, Premier Pro, Camtasia)
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Excellent domain/ product/ process knowledge.
- Strong word-processing skills & proficiency in using documentation tools.
- Excellent interpersonal & conflict management skills.
- Personal Ownership & accountability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing.
- Adequate knowledge of learning platforms in the industry
- Adequate knowledge of Technology platforms widely used in the industry
- Adequate knowledge of developing animated video's or walkthrough
- Adequate knowledge of dynamics walkthrough with voiceover
- Adequate knowledge of Storyboard concepts
Other Requirements
Flexible work schedule will be required (Day/Night as per the company requirement)
