Role:

The Turtlemint group comprises 3 legal entities - a tech company, an insurance broking company that is regulated by IRDAI and a mutual fund distribution company. The company is looking for someone to be part of their Financial Planning and Analysis function. TM is one of the fastest growing insurance tech companies in India and is currently operating at a scale of over US$ 250m in premium generation per annum. Given this scale and growth, the company is ambitious eventually taking the company to IPO in a few years.

The role demands that the candidate has experience in working in FP&A teams. The nature of work is wide ranging - from helping build Annual Operating Plans of the company, helping with investor reporting, building analytics dashboards that help in tracking business performance, evaluating new business initiatives and investments and so on. The role also oversees some aspects of the revenue and profitability management functions within the finance team. The candidate is ideally someone with at around 4 years' post qualification experience. The candidate is ideally a Chartered Accountant with some experience in working in FP&A teams in companies. The ideal candidate combines strong finance function competencies with a good commercial sense that enables the candidate to effectively add value to the planning function. A massive advantage will be if the candidate has experience in working with analytics packages such as Tableau, Power BI etc. Ability to confidently interact on important issues with multiple cross functional stakeholders of the company is important and hence strong communication skills is critical.

Responsibilities:

Annual Business Plan & Forecasting :

- Assist in the preparation of the annual business plan and periodic financial forecasts to guide the company's financial strategy.

Performance Tracking & Analysis :

- Monitor business performance against budgets and forecasts, conducting variance and trend analysis to identify key performance drivers.

Profit & Loss Management :

- Develop and maintain vertical and branch-level Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, ensuring accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.

Financial Reporting :

- Generate periodic financial reports, MIS, and presentations (PPTs) for senior management, board members, and investors.

Benchmarking & Competitor Analysis :

- Perform regular competitor benchmarking and analyze their periodic financial reports to identify trends and opportunities.

Financial Modeling & Simulations :

- Develop financial models and simulations to evaluate business proposals and strategic initiatives.

Dashboard & Reporting :

- Create and maintain key financial and operational dashboards for senior leadership, providing actionable insights and commentary on performance and variances.

Ad-hoc Financial Assignments :

- Support financial decision-making on special projects, including NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return), capital budgeting, and more.

- Desired Candidate Profile:

- Chartered Accountant. MBA is not mandatory - but will be advantageous.

- Around 4 years of PQE in FP&A and/or Business Finance profile.

- Prior work-ex in Insurance industry would be an added advantage.

- Ability to work on large data sets.

- Analytical skills to interpret the data and summarize it.

- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders (cross-functional) and task orientation.

- Exposure to data analytics tools like Tableau, Power BI etc is optional but advantageous.

- Extremely high and advanced level proficiency in Excel is must.
