Job Description - Financial Institutions Analyst
Industry : Rating Agency / Broking Firm / Banking / Financial Institution
CTC : upto 20 Lacs
The candidate will be responsible for assigning and reviewing ratings of various financial institutions including banks, NBFCs, Insurance Companies, Asset Management Companies, etc which involves modelling cash flows, preparing credit committee reports, and communicating credit opinions to investors and issuers.
This person will assume a lead role in rating of financial institution credits, authoring market commentary and related research, Securitisation, Financial modelling,serving as a credit committee member in reviewing and assigning ratings to financial institutions and participating in criteria projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead analyst on rating mandates or support other analysts on rating exercises
- Conduct regular Issuer/Sector/Market research for the purpose of analysis, compiling of reports and committee packages
- Publish external research (including issuer reports, special sector reports, presentations)
- Maintain files in accordance with internal policies in relation to meetings, committee documentation and external correspondence
- Lead/Assist more senior analysts in external outreach (including analytical meetings, investor & banker meetings) and/or take responsibility for same
- Actively participate in rating committee and other internal analytical discussions
- Financial data entry and maintain up-to-date databases/systems
- Ad hoc tasks
Position requirements:
- Fluent English, both written and verbal, is essential
- Proficiency in use of Excel/Word/PowerPoint
- Ability to analyse financial institutions in India and non-banking financial institutions for the purpose of assigning credit ratings, strong understanding of macro financial system risks
- Resourcefulness in terms of managing challenges associated with data collection and analysis; self-motivated and enthusiastic in writing
- Able to work independently yet contribute to team objectives
- Confident and articulate in communicating with internal/external constituents (including investors, bankers, regulators and media)
- Willing to be forthright/outspoken in internal/external discussions and challenge opinions of others
- Demonstrable inquisitive, broad-minded and forward-thinking analytical nature, with international perspectives in relation to credit matters
Experience:
- 4-8 years of relevant credit experience working in another credit rating agency, bank/investment bank, regulator, investment manager (or similar institution) or consultancy/accounting firm
- Post graduate/professional degree educated
