Financial Data Analyst - Media

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Financial Data Analyst will be responsible for providing support and assistance during Royalty Audits for various authors. The individual will be responsible for preparing the reports requested by the external Auditors and perform reviews of the reports, to ensure royalty calculations are accurate and in compliance with the terms of author contracts.

- The individual will assist management with the review of and response to audit findings and ensuring that responses are accurate, comprehensive, and accurately reflect the position of the company.

- Participating in the timely completion of assigned audit reviews producing accurate, complete, and organized work papers.

- Identify improper accounting or documentation, research issues, and make recommendations to improve policies or procedures accordingly.

- Assure that the documentation contains collaborating evidence to support the audit objectives as well as perform special projects as required.

- Provide status updates to the management as needed.

- Work on external auditor inquiries and provide support and reconcile discrepancies, as applicable.

Key responsibilities include :

- Assist in the preparation of author inquiry support using various system(s) extracts and royalty statements

- Preparing reports by providing well detailed documentation of audit results

- Collating, checking, and analyzing spreadsheet data

- Liaising with managerial staff and presenting findings and recommendations

- Ensuring procedures, policies, and regulations are correctly followed and complied with

- Preparing and maintaining work papers that support author audit for external auditors

- Assisting in testing the system reports

- Drafting commentary as appropriate for the Manager Royalty Audit to review for issuance to internal and external reporting

- Preparing Dashboards and Status reports

- Working on special projects as required.

- Utilizing knowledge of departmental operations to gather and compile information
