Financial Controller - FinTech/Banking

looking for a Finance Controller with deep expertise in banking, FX platforms, and fiat currency management. This role will oversee financial operations, risk mitigation, and compliance while driving efficiency and strategic decision-making within our fast-paced fintech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Oversight & Reporting:

- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.

- Establish and enforce internal controls to maintain financial accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

- Manage multi-entity consolidations, month-end and year-end closures, and financial reconciliations.

- Ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting for internal stakeholders, regulators, and investors.

FX & Treasury Operations:

- Oversee fiat currency flows and foreign exchange transactions across multiple markets.

- Develop and implement strategies for FX risk management, hedging, and liquidity optimization.

- Monitor nostro accounts, settlement processes, and reconciliations for seamless transaction processing.

- Work closely with banking partners and payment service providers to ensure efficient fund movement.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, AML/KYC policies, and capital adequacy requirements across jurisdictions.

- Manage tax compliance, including VAT, GST, transfer pricing, and corporate tax strategies.

- Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring all financial processes align with regulatory standards.

- Proactively identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Strategic Finance & Business Support:

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support business expansion.

- Provide insights on profitability, cost efficiencies, and financial performance to senior leadership.

- Support capital-raising efforts by preparing financial models, investor reports, and due diligence documentation.

- Leverage technology to enhance financial automation, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

- CA, CPA, CFA, or an equivalent professional qualification preferred.

- 8+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or financial services, with expertise in FX platforms and fiat currency operations.

- Strong understanding of financial regulations, risk management, and multi-entity financial reporting.

- Hands-on experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, and automation tools.

- Ability to work in a dynamic, high-growth environment and drive strategic financial initiatives.

- Prior experience in payments infrastructure, remittances, or digital banking is an advantage.
