Main Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Ensure monthly, quarterly and year-end regional and corporate reporting deliverables are completed within stipulated timelines.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial statements and ledgers ofthe India legal and reporting entities within Australia and New Zealand.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the Indian financial submissions within Corporate financial systems.
- Oversee the Balance Sheet review and reconciliation processes in compliance with Corporate policies and procedures.
- Oversee the Revenue Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable sub-functions within the Financial Accounting team.
Payroll
- Oversee Finance Payroll responsibilities ensuring payrolls are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate with the region's HR function to ensure an efficient payroll process which has shared responsibility between the Finance and HR functions.
Treasury
- Monitor the region's cash flow position and forecasts and oversee the region's Treasury function/processes including funding requests, cash sweeps etc.
- Review/approve payments and transfers in line with approval thresholds.
- Maintain account management relationships with bank and credit card vendors.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Treasury team on deliverables, requests and initiatives.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards as applicable, Corporate accounting policies and Sarbanes Oxley processes and controls.
- Ensure statutory filing timelines are met including audit, taxation and corporate secretarial requirements.
- Ensure employee related filings such asVAT, Employee social insurance and payroll taxes etc. are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate with the Corporate Tax team on deliverables, requests and initiatives.
Accounting Team
- Manage and lead theinternal management and financial accounting teams.
- Ensure all Associates within the team have clearly defined and documented Goals and Individual Development Plans which are regularly reviewed and discussed with respective reporting managers.
- Ensure all Associate reviews and appraisals within the team are completed within stipulated timelines.
- Ensure all Associates within the team complete mandatory Corporate Compliance courses within stipulated timelines.
Continuous Improvement
- Continually review Financial Accounting processes by challenging, analyzing and testing established methods, practices and procedures to validate their effectiveness; recognize continuous improvement opportunities and tackle these areas proactively.
Business Partnering
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other business functions.
- Act as an influencer to drive common business initiatives and demonstrate leadership qualities.
Other
- Coordinate with external accounting and payroll firms where accounting and payroll processes are outsourced.
- Lead or participate in Regional and Global Projects as required.
- Liaise with Corporate Risk Management team and InsuranceAgents on company insurance matters.
Leadership
As a member of the Leadership team, have the ability to:

Skills / Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant with 8 years experience in financial reporting and accounting.
- Excellent financial and accounting knowledge and skills supported by academic and professional qualifications, ideally with experience within medium to large sized organizations.
- Strong analytical, people-management, time-management, inter-personal and communication skills.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work in a dynamic, matrix based environment.
- Experience in managing a Finance team, ideally in an environment of change.
- Effective team player and team manager.
- Knowledgeof and experience with US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley preferred.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition concepts and preferably experience/exposure in a business environment where varying revenue recognition treatments are applied.
- Experience with enterprise financial systems.
