Financial Controller Job Duties

- Oversee the operations of general accounting, audits, accounts receivable, credit control and accounts payable departments.

- Issue timely and complete financial reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.

- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.

- Supervise and manage financial department staff.

- Motivate and lead finance team members by clarifying roles and providing helpful feedback.

- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems.

- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.

- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.

- Maintains and enforces accounting policies and procedures.

- Coordinate and collaborate with external and internal auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations and requirements.

- Support the development of budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.

- Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.

- Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.

- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, their control systems, transaction-processing operations, policies, and procedures.

- Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information.

- Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

Financial Controller Qualifications:

- Master's degree in accounting

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.

- Qualified CA

- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.

- At least 5 years of line management experience.
