Financial Control Role - Budgeting & Forecasting

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced professional for an IT Business Management and Financial Control role, with a strong focus on Budgeting and Forecasting, to join our team supporting a prestigious investment banking firm in Bangalore. This role is critical in managing the financial aspects of the IT department, ensuring effective planning, tracking, and control of expenses and headcount. You will utilize your financial acumen and technical skills to support decision-making and maintain financial discipline within the IT organization.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Lead and manage the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles for IT expenses and headcount.

- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on financial performance, budget vs. actuals, and forecasts for IT management.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to IT spending.

- Maintain a strong understanding of the IT department's Profit & Loss (P&L) structure and contribute to performance management initiatives.

- Support internal audit activities related to IT financial controls and processes.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of IT Governance frameworks and procedures from a financial perspective.

- Collaborate with various IT teams and finance departments to gather data and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

- Utilize technical tools and systems to manage financial data and generate reports.

- Participate in large projects and initiatives, providing financial insights and support.

- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.

Required Skills:

Skill Set:

- Strong experience in Budgeting and Forecasting (specifically focusing on expense and headcount).

- Solid understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and financial reporting.

- Experience in Performance Management within an IT or corporate finance context.

- Understanding of Internal Audit processes and controls.

- Familiarity with IT Governance principles.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong self-management skills.

- Ability to articulate complex IT problems in simple business terms.

- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective, trustworthy relationships with stakeholders within the IT department and beyond.

- Demonstrated ability to participate effectively in large projects and initiatives.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (advanced skills required for financial modeling and analysis).

- Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting.

- Experience working with different financial systems and tools used for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Master's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.

- 3 to 5 years of overall experience in a relevant financial control or business management role within an IT context.

- At least 1 year of professional working experience in the banking sector or a highly regulated environment.

- An Audit or controls background is considered a plus.

Location: Whitefield, Bangalore (Bagmane Solarium City, Kundalahalli Colony, Brookefield)

Contract Duration: 9 months
