We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Analyst specialising in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, building complex financial models, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes related to M&A transactions. This role requires proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and a strong understanding of corporate finance principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct financial analysis to assess the economic performance, profitability, and risks associated with potential M&A opportunities.
- Develop comprehensive financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), merger consequences, accretion/ dilution analysis, synergy analysis, and scenario analysis.
- Perform valuation assessments utilizing various methodologies such as comparable company analysis (CCA), precedent transactions analysis (PTA), and discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including corporate development, finance, legal, and senior management to evaluate potential M&A targets and negotiate deal terms.
- Prepare detailed investment memos, presentations, and reports summarizing findings and recommendations for senior leadership and the board of directors.
- Assist in due diligence by analyzing financial statements, conducting industry research, and identifying key drivers and risks.
- Provide support in structuring and negotiating transaction terms, including purchase price adjustments, earn-outs, and financing arrangements.
- Monitor and track industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify potential acquisition targets and opportunities for strategic partnerships.
- Participate in post-acquisition performance monitoring.
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial modelling methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of financial modelling preferably in real estate.
- Chartered Accountant (first attempt) or MBA from tier I college or CFA
- 3-4 years of experience in financial analysis with a strong background in financial modelling and forecasting. Previous real estate securities or equity analysis background is preferred. Previous experience in Investment banking or Big 4 Due Diligence teams or Private Equity or Venture Capital will be preferred.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling and valuation techniques, with advanced Excel skills and experience using financial modelling software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Solid understanding of corporate finance principles, accounting standards, and M&A transaction structures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully executing M&A transactions from inception to closure.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Demonstrated quantitative, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
