Financial Analyst

- Candidate should know Direct and indirect tax and Indian compliances.

- Must have experience with Trading/ Manufacturing sector.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Partner with the Senior Manager Finance to ensure Medline's global monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines are met, are compliant with Medline's accounting policies and procedures, and that accurate and reliable data is provided in the required format.

2. Ownership of the financial accounting function including preparation and maintenance of relevant accounting accruals to the trial balance level and reconciliations for all financial accounts. Responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the financial accounting G/L accounts for all entities, including all intercompany loan and trade balances. This includes prompt follow-up and resolution of any accounting discrepancies to ensure accounts are "clean" and the "no-surprises" principle is applied.

3. Overall responsibility for local taxation compliance, including the preparation and timely lodgment and payment of company income tax instalments, GST, TDS, WHT and other taxation requirements.

- Key liaison with external tax accountants to ensure annual ITR's are accurate and lodged on time.

- Key liaison with Medline global tax team regarding international tax issues and transfer pricing compliance.

4. Ownership of the interim and year end external audit requirements. Key liaison with external audit provider to ensure accurate and timely preparation of annual statutory Financial Statements in line with applicable accounting standards. Key liaison with external corporate affairs provider to ensure compliance with government lodgement deadlines relating to statutory accounts.

5. Direct supervision of the Accounts Officer, including review of supplier and customer aging, review of supplier payment runs, advising on G/L coding and other ad hoc tasks.

- Manage, coach, mentor, motivate and support direct reports as assigned, including effective performance appraisals, training and other team activities.

6. Work with the Accounts Officer in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions across the entities in India.

7. Partner with external Payroll Provider to provide financial oversight to ensure all payroll-related transactions are accurately recorded in the G/Ledger and reconciled monthly/annually.

8. Support the Senior Manager Finance to prepare monthly rolling forecast, quarterly forecast, annual Financial Plan and Long Range Plan. Understand the business drivers that impact actual and forecast financials.

9. Provide function-relevant Finance expertise and assistance to non-Finance business units as required. Respond to all relevant queries (including ad-hoc) from Medline global in an accurate and timely manner.

10. Actively seek process improvement opportunities within the Finance team; key member of any Finance-related system changes, including ERP upgrade projects.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or associated degree and current CA qualification.

2. Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial accounting role, including hands-on Financial Accounting function for a complex multi-entity organization. Experience in working cross functionally and collaboratively in a global organization.

3. Strong technical accounting skills and practical knowledge of the principles of financial accounting and accounting standards in an import and distribution business in India.

4. Proven experience in external audit liaison/management in a multi-entity organization.

5. Hands-on practical knowledge of India tax reporting and compliance obligations

6. Ability to apply critical thinking and a problem-solving mindset to the Financial Accounting function

7. Advanced ERP, Excel, and MS Office skills

8. Superior organizational and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities workload for self and team as required.

9. Commitment to continuous process improvement and ability to articulate potential benefits of recommended changes and guide the change process.

10. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.

11. Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for working in a corporate Finance team and a commitment to value-adding to the Medline business overall.

12. People management experience including establishing performance objectives, conducting performance appraisals, setting job descriptions and developing goals and objectives for a team.
