Our Australian Client is into Agro Tech IoT products and is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant for their India office based out of Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore.

This is a 5 day week Work from Office position.

Purpose:

The Financial Accountant - India, reports to the Financial Controller - Group, (based in Australia) and has exposure the Indian market. The role is a broad and wide-ranging finance role including financial accounting & reporting, cash flows, and tax / audit compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Accounting and Reporting:

o Manage monthly financial reporting and controls for India legal entity, including:

- Completeness and accuracy of transactions in the Group accounting system

- Accurate presentation of the company P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements

- Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations

- Variance analysis

- Monthly results review meetings with the Group head office

o Regular project reporting

o Drive the forecasting & budget process for the India business

o Maintain stewardship of India business assets

o Manage Purchasing, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions

- Financial process and controls:

o Lead design and implementation of local policies and procedures consistent with Group

o Ensure compliance with Global policies and procedures

o Work with cross functional teams to determine appropriate financial control points

- Funding & Treasury

o Monitor cash position and maintain flow forecasts

o Assist in managing funding arrangements (such as intercompany loans and equity injections)

o Maintain banking mandates in line with Group Treasury requirements

- Tax & Legal:

o Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax obligations (income taxes, indirect taxes, transfer pricing)

o Support the Group in ensuring adequate Insurances are in place

o Oversee performance of financial reporting obligations

o Coordinate legal and financial fillings for the entity

o Coordinate the local audit process & support the global audit process

- Payroll and compensation

o Support the payroll process through review and ensuring accuracy; liaise with an external payroll provider

o Work with HR Team to define local incentives plan, implement and review incentives payouts

o Act as the Travel and Expenses administrator to ensure compliance with Group and local policies

- Projects/ Business Partnering

o Manage financial aspects of projects including invoicing and collection as well as support the quotation process

o Support senior executives and project managers to ensure that financial metrics of projects are at the forefront of their decision making

- Systems

o Local lead for an accounting system (SAP Business One) and an expense management system (Concur)

Skills & Qualifications

Education/ Qualifications:

- Degree in Accounting and Finance

- CA/CPA would be desirable

Experience & Knowledge:

- Experience of at least 5 years in similar position/s with international business exposure

- Accountability for / or led a legal entity controller function including statutory books responsibility and P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow reporting

- Aptitude for technology - Systems savvy

- Sound knowledge of accounting theory

- Thorough understanding of operational business models and strategies

- Working with external auditors and tax consultants

- Knowledge of, and applicable experience in, working with Tax and Treasury functions

- Commits & meets deadlines and priorities consistently - able to deliver under pressure

- Proven ability to deliver results whilst multitasking a range of complex tasks/activities by leveraging cross functional relationships and managing a team

- Strong written and oral communication skills

Other Skills/ Knowledge:

- Advocate of the Company's Code of Conduct and Values

- Sound working knowledge of OH&S and company Policy's

- Advocate for the Quality Management System and mindset of continuous Improvement
