Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic startup team. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and driving the long-term success of the company. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership experience to guide our startup through rapid growth and expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives and growth plans.
- Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, and financial reporting.
- Provide strategic guidance and financial insights to the CEO and board of directors to support decision-making and drive business performance.
- Lead the preparation of financial models, business plans, and investment proposals to support fundraising efforts and strategic initiatives.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and compliance processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, auditors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure transparency and compliance with reporting requirements.
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to track performance against targets and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Drive cost optimization and efficiency initiatives across the organization to maximize profitability and return on investment.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting the financial landscape, and proactively adapt the company's strategy as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership position, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Proven track record of success in financial management, strategic planning, and driving business results.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply them in a dynamic business environment.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop actionable plans to capitalize on them.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis tools, and ERP systems.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and driving change in a fast-paced startup environment.
