Role Overview: -
As the Finance Controller, you will be a key leadership team member, overseeing all aspects of financial management, reporting, and compliance. You will work closely with the Leadership Team and other stakeholders to ensure financial health, implement best practices, and support strategic decision-making.
Objective: The company is seeking an energetic finance professional who can take charge of the Finance, Legal and Secretarial functions. This individual should be able to own and drive all aspects of strategic finance, including translating company strategy into financial plans, tracking those financial plans against operating performance, evaluating and implementing of an ERP system, and driving continuous improvement in finance processes as per global best practices. This individual should bring fresh strategic thinking to the business and be a key thought partner to the CEO.
We expect this role to eventually groom into a CFO as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Develop and oversee financial policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard company assets.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure liquidity and profitability.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, providing actionable insights to leadership.
Accounting and Reporting
- Supervise all accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage audits.
Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop long-term financial strategies and business models.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and scalability strategies.
- Assist in fundraising efforts, including preparing pitch decks, financial projections, and due diligence materials.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, corporate governance standards, and local laws.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Team Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Education: Chartered Accountant / MBA - Finance
- 5+ years-experience in finance function
- Must have prior experience in IT services finance
- Good to have prior experience in Big 6 audit/diligence
Technical Skills: Experience with rollout and management of ERP Systems financial control/reporting, budgeting, MIS, dashboarding, compliance & Strong proficiency in financial modelling, and advanced Excel.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial planning, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in the IT/tech space.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage and inspire teams in a dynamic environment.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
