Finance Controller - Qualified CA (Malayalam)
Location : Cochin
Report to : CFO
Position Overview: The Financial Controller is a key leadership role within the finance department, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial strategies and controls.
Job Description:
- Financial Operations, Reporting and Analysis:
- Overseeing of end-to-end finance operations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee and ensure the accuracy of inventory records and levels.
- Coordinate with inventory control teams to conduct regular audits and cycle counts.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with purchasing and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the audit process.
- Maintain and update internal control procedures.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage the organization's cash flow.
- Develop cash management strategies to optimize financial resources.
Taxation:
- Oversee tax planning and compliance activities such as GST, TDS etc...
ERP implementation:
- Key role in designing and implementing of ERP systems
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations.
- Implement best practices in financial management.
Audit Handling:
- Manage statutory audits to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary.
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the financial strategic planning of the organization.
- Provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor the finance team.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
Qualifications:
- Should be Chartered Accountant with least 10 years in Finance & Accounts Operations
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development
- Experience in the Retail industry or similar sectors (optional but can be a plus)
