Finance Controller


Key Result Areas (KRAs):

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

- Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts.

- Compliance: Verify that financial reports comply with local, national, and international accounting standards and regulations.

- Variance Analysis: Perform regular variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide insights into financial performance.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Budget Preparation: Lead the annual budgeting process, including developing, reviewing, and finalizing departmental budgets.

- Forecasting: Create and maintain financial forecasts, analyzing trends and making adjustments as necessary to align with organizational goals.

- Performance Monitoring: Track budget performance and provide recommendations for corrective actions to ensure financial targets are met.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

- Control Framework: Develop and maintain an internal control framework to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.

- Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits and implementation of any audit recommendations.

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and compliance requirements, including tax filings and financial disclosures.

Financial Planning and Strategy:

- Strategic Support: Provide financial insights and support to senior management for strategic planning and decision-making.

- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the organization.

- Capital Management: Oversee capital expenditure planning and management, ensuring effective utilization of financial resources.

Cash Flow Management:

- Cash Flow Monitoring: Manage and forecast cash flow to ensure the organization has adequate liquidity to meet its obligations.

- Working Capital: Optimize working capital management, including receivables, payables, and inventory.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Team Management: Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance team performance.

- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Financial Systems and Processes:

- Systems Oversight: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software to ensure effective financial management and reporting.

- Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient financial processes and procedures to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.

Stakeholder Communication:

- Reporting: Communicate financial performance and key metrics to stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and external partners.

- Advisory Role: Act as a financial advisor to other departments, providing insights and recommendations to support business operations.

Performance Metrics:

- Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports

- Budget variance and forecast accuracy

Qualifications:

- Experience: Extensive experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record in financial management and reporting.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are preferred.

- Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial software and systems. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
