R2R Finance Consultant (Oil & Gas) - Big4 Consulting Firm - Contractual Role
Our client, one of the Big4 consulting firm, is working with a global Oil and Gas company. They are working on a large finance transformation project and are currently looking for R2R consultant to join their team. The consultants will be embedded on the team.
Below are the key job responsibilities typically associated with this role:
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards (such as International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Analyse financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies and variances
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations to ensure accurate consolidated financial reporting across subsidiaries.
- Oversee the recording, tracking, and reconciliation of fixed assets and depreciation.
- Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and accounting standards.
- Analyze financial data and variances to budget or forecast, providing insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with operational teams to understand and explain financial performance.
- Ensure adherence to industry-specific regulations, reporting requirements, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of financial reporting processes.
- Implement best practices and automation to streamline the R2R cycle.
- Utilize financial software and tools to record, report, and analyze financial data.
Skill requirements:
- Bachelor's/PG degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA) are preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in finance, accounting, or auditing roles within the Oil and Gas sector.
- Strong knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and regulations (e.g., IFRS for Oil and Gas).
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and perform variance analysis.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to drive process improvements
This opportunity will be on an initial 6-month contract and can be executed in a remote setup.
