Manager/Senior Manager - Strategic Sourcing

Overall Responsibility of the Role/Position :

- Responsible for bringing entire procurement into a process oriented environment, defining benchmark prices, evaluating various alternative options, exploring e-sourcing and firming up formal binding contracts for Raw Material including commodities wherever possible, Packaging Material and other operational expenditure.

- Sourcing will include domestic buying and also import of raw material from various other countries.

- Responsible for strategizing the entire procurement of raw material, packaging and establishing clear policies and processes for the Internal Customers and external agencies/partners.

- Designing a structured process document and lay down the expectations and guiding principles to be followed in the entire supply chain and to bring synergy in sourcing at Hosur, Meerut and ACE.

- Developing MIS on the procurement and highlight areas of concern and share inputs on Market Trends which may have impact on the business.

- Responsible for putting effective Internal Control Systems in the entire procurement process at every stage to ensure compliance and monitoring of compliances.

- Establishing long term partnerships / relationships with all the stake holders/partners - external and internal.

- To ensure adherence of core values, ethics and integrity during the entire process of procurement and to see to it that the same is followed in letter and spirit by the team at every level.

Primary Role & Responsibility :

- Establishing alternate vendors for Raw Material evaluate quality, price, seasonality and check the credentials of the vendors after laying down the process of Vendor Audit and reference check / screening, negotiate and propose the action plan leading to formal written document with all the deliverables and terms and conditions clearly defined to bring discipline in the procurement process.

- To evaluate and implement the process of formal tendering and e-sourcing/auctioning process to maximize the benefits of the larger vendor base.

- To Institutionalize the Market Survey process, Document the price movement of key ingredients ( to start with A items), study the trends and events affecting the demand & supply leading to price movement in future and give the required inputs / alerts to the management on the procurement strategy/plan in a Monthly Sourcing Bulletin.

- Responsible for handling independently the entire procurement from identifying leads, negotiations, contracting and monitoring the execution of the contracts.

- To focus on Vendor Development initiative in a very focused manner to expand the present vendor base while ensuring the right balance in maintaining relationship with the existing partners and creating space for the prospective partners.

- To device very transparent process to ensure visibility, compliance and probity at the highest level

- To explore possibilities of import substitution and direct import of critical ingredients to maximize the cost benefit.

- Responsible for vendor payments and to ensure that a structured quarterly reconciliation process is put in place.

- To device a mechanism for taking feedback from the vendors periodically and also plan a structured Recognition plan for deserving partners.

- To document and devise the entire work flow starting from PR, RFQ, Quotes, Comparative, Negotiations till the final contract is released.

- To study the utilization of SAP for the Procurement process and identify areas which will need to be plugged in the SAP for more effective and efficient working, water tight controls and useful and timely MIS.

Desired Experience, Skills and Knowledge :

- Should have the exposure in Food/Commodity Procurement preferably in FMCG environment in both domestic & global sourcing.

- Sharp commercial acumen and good understanding of entire value chain in the food procurement & processes.

- Ability to handle multitasking, prioritizing and to be able to work and deliver in a time bound environment.

- To be able to conduct in a matured manner in testing times in a pressure situations.
