Department Description:

Financial Control function in India is responsible for controllership and reporting activities of UK, CE and Indian entities. It also includes Group finance activities performed for FIL as a whole. Key responsibilities of the teams are :

- accounting & control,

- Group/legal entity year-end and audit

- direct & indirect taxation

- treasury & regulatory compliance

- MIS reportings and supporting the extended teams in different regions.

Purpose of your role:

This role is an excellent opportunity to gain a broad understanding of financial controllership and its role in FIL's Financial Services business. The role will be primarily around handling accounting and monthly reporting's. The successful applicant will be exposed to IGAAP/UGAAP based accounting and would be required to demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm towards ad hoc queries and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities will be as follows:

- General Ledger accounting

- Assist in regular month end process and intercompany accounting.

- Support reporting and analysis

- Preparation of Balance Sheet Accounts reconciliations on Assure Net and ensure timely clearance of open items

- Deal with Ad-Hoc queries from stakeholders and preparation of MIS

- Assist with various upcoming projects

Experience and Qualifications Required:

Technical:

- Qualified (or part - qualified) CA / MBA Finance with up to 2-5 years of relevant work experience in Finance with exposure to accounting, data analytics and reporting.

- Strong analytical skills including knowledge of accounting principles;

- Shows attention to detail and an appetite to dive into issues in depth as needed;

- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office software packages; Proficient with Microsoft Excel;

- Knowledge of Essbase, HFM, and JDE would be an advantage.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills;

- Ability to challenge conventional ideas/ status quo.
