FEA Manager - Job Description
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities :
- Lead a team of engineers to develop advanced structural solutions to quantitatively assess and conclude on structural integrity & life of products that are in design / service
- This is a technical and managerial position that is expected to provide technical leadership and people leadership to the team; work closely with Director of Mechanical Engineering in aligning and executing on strategic imperatives
- Acquire talent and build the team further, motivate, develop and manage employees and provide technical oversight to achieve excellent technical and business outcomes; i.e., provide technical leadership and project management guidance to the team, and lead the implementation of technical approaches, processes and procedures to deliver advanced technical capability that will be matured and made available to stakeholders
- Knowledge and deep understanding of state-of-the-art FEA methods and FEA customization, thumb rules and procedures related to sheet metal and plastic structures, thermal & structural degradation, fatigue & failure models, dynamic analysis of structures, etc.
- Past hands on experience with FEA tool ANSYS and familiarity with functionality of tools and scripting/programming languages such as Python, C/C++ etc
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the team consisting of FEA & Structural Design engineers
- Deliver projects as per committed schedule with strong conclusions and suggestions for non-structural engineers working on Product designs & development
- Communicate Clearly on all Projects - from understanding the requirements, executing the projects to sharing the conclusions
- Set goals and achieve targets for the team, perform talent review and create plans for individual career development
- Provide Innovative yet cost-effective engineering solutions to complex technical problems
Desired Profile :
- B.E / M.Tech in Mechanical or Refrigeration Engineering from IIT / IISc / Outside India
- Previous experience working as a Team Leader / Manager
- Cross-Functional Team Interactions preferably with Europe / US teams
- Skilled in advising and mentoring staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational challenges; results-driven and have a strong bottom-line orientation
- Willing to work based out of Chennai and open to travel abroad for short-term business / project discussions

- The candidate should also possess strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, statements of work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI).
