Responsibilities:

- Prepare tax reports associated with REMIC Tax and Grantor Trust structures including reviewing income trend analysis, preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts.

- Ensure timely filing of all tax returns (Schedule Qs, Form 1066, and Form 1041).

- Develop the closing package on new deals (REMIC and Non-REMIC structures), summarize legal documents, identify relevant tax issues, reconcile accounting, setup initial journal entry and work with the Tax Setup analyst on the Tax setup.

- Monitor and maintain terminations for due dates along with timely filing of appropriate forms. Prepare the final journal entry & ensure that all relevant documents are requested.

- Review/Troubleshoot quarterly tax work (Schedule Q, journal entries, balance sheet, account reconciliations, income analysis, and additional documentation as needed) on complex and problematic deals.

- Offer process improvement suggestions to enhance tax and /or global process efficiency.

- Involvement in ad hoc/special projects which support process improvement and the implementation of technology initiatives.

- Understand and analyze issues and offer practical solutions. Working independently with a minimal degree of supervision is required to exercise independent judgment.

- Ability to communicate precisely and with high level of articulation.

- Interaction with the Client Service group of DB located at Santa Ana, California and other external parties for day to day operations.

Requirement:

- Minimum experience of 2 years in Finance & Accounting/Auditing/Investment Banking/US Taxation.

- Understanding of US Taxation Laws & Regulations will be an advantage.

- Ability to understand/debug codes in some proprietary scripting language. In addition, if the incumbent has the ability to code in scripting language, it may be an advantage

- Basic understanding of financial instruments like Bonds, Loans, Leases, etc. Additional knowledge about Mortgages, Structured Products like MBS/ABS and hedging instruments (like swaps, etc.) will be an advantage.

- Understanding of cash flow dynamics associated with the structured products. Exposure to discounted cash flow engines.

- Ability to interpret issuance related legal documents (Optional)

- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple and often competing projects under tight deadlines and pressure.

- Must project a Customer/Client service focus.

- Must be organized, focused and possess strong communication and analytical skills.

- Self starter, Responsible and highly committed, Strong Analytical and Logical reasoning (handy for interpretation of logical statements embedded in legal documents).

- Process and Quality Compliant with attention to detail.
