Job Summary:

- This position is designated as Senior Analyst in the EY Knowledge Business Insights function at GDS and is housed in Technology, Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications (TMT) domain. The position delivers high quality, impactful research and analysis to assigned projects that enables internal customers to build client relationships, win pursuits, deliver on engagements, and strengthen the brand and reputation of EY in the industry.


- Senior Analysts also provide their own point of view and basic insights in their deliverables and manage small to medium-sized projects. The projects are in accordance with sector priorities agreed in the domain's Integrated Knowledge Plan. These priorities cover supporting key accounts and/or strategic solutions, providing an insightful perspective on a specific segments, trends or regions, supporting the service line strategy or developing market-impacting points of view to support domain's go-to-market priorities.

- The Senior Analyst role requires the ability to combine good analytical skills and an inquisitive mindset with real-world perspective driven by an understanding of both EY practitioners' experiences and broader Technology, Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications (TMT) Industry Market drivers. A collaborative mindset is also crucial, as Senior Analysts have a key role to play in supporting networks within the domain, sharing information across sectors, service lines, accounts and solutions, and using that information to further strengthen the quality of materials produced.

- The position will also work closely with colleagues in other domains (e.g. in another sector, service line or geography, or with the Market Developments & Insights group) to deliver on cross-sector / cross-service line topics and initiatives.


- This position requires awareness and understanding of other EY Knowledge functional competencies and services to support integrated teaming and the coordinated delivery of an integrated knowledge plan to domain stakeholders and customers.

- The position works closely with the GDS Domain Team Leader as well as, where applicable, with the Domain Knowledge Leader, Senior Domain Analyst and Knowledge Managers to support the domain's leadership, senior stakeholders and other key customers, contributing to impactful research, analysis and insight that helps to differentiate EY in the marketplace.

- The position may also participate in strategic initiatives to increase commercial impact of deliverables, improve efficiency and enhance service quality. Senior Analysts also peer review deliverables and coach junior colleagues.

Essential Functions of the Job:

- Produce a range of analysis work, from high-level single frames to detailed reports, to support the firm's strategic decisions on industries, companies and emerging business topics. Demonstrates and applies strong subject knowledge to deliverables

- Support engagement with stakeholders and internal customers to provide them with a clear perspective on the issues, challenges and opportunities in the market, through impactful research and analysis on the implications of those trends for EY and its clients.

- Together with the Knowledge Manager, proactively alert stakeholders and internal customers regarding changes amongst key clients and competitors, and assess the implications of those changes for key stakeholders and their teams.

- Conduct pro-active research, using primary and secondary information sources, and provide insight on industry trends, industry drivers and processes, key players and competitive environment, for internal and external use.

- Produce a range of analysis work, from high-level single frames to detailed reports, to support the firm's strategic decisions on industries, companies and emerging business topics. Demonstrates and applies strong subject knowledge to deliverables

- Perform valuations for management planning, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), detailed financial modelling

- Works independently with minimal guidance and independently handles production and review of deliverables - both quantitative and qualitative. Independently handle secondary research and content analysis on the assigned topic, present findings in a logical manner to formulate or support the hypotheses/ point of view

- Continuously develop and hone his / her knowledge on the assigned industry and generate original ideas for research and analysis

- Develop relationships with manager / senior manager-level stakeholders in account / service line / solution teams and collaborates with domain customers and EY Knowledge colleagues to deliver research, analysis and insights that support business development activities and service delivery to clients (including for relationship building initiatives and specific engagements).

- Identify cross-sector point of view (POV) sharing opportunities and seeks opportunities to collaborate with other domain teams on issues that cut across EY's business activities.

- Strong focus on research competency with active participation in R&I competency development offerings related to research leading practices

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

- Able to synthesize and analyze information coherently and succinctly. Able to bring together a variety of perspectives and sources across the domain to deliver impactful analysis that supports business priorities.

- Demonstrates expertise in information sources relevant to the domain.

- Understands the firm's go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support the business, and how knowledge analytics and measurement enables exceptional client service and high performing teams.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including financial analysis skills

- Good project and time management skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines

- Expert in information sources relevant to the domain

- Experience of working in a fast-moving, client-driven environment

- Collaborative and able to work well both as part of a team and independently

- Able to explain difficult concepts in a clear, concise and graphic-rich style, using appropriate analytics and visualization tools.

- Understanding of internal stakeholders and external clients' needs and concerns; responds with a sense of urgency

- Ability to take ownership for delivering customized projects with a degree of autonomy; adept at working on a number of projects simultaneously.

- Knowledge and experience within a professional services environment an advantage

- Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Strongly referred - good working knowledge on advanced visualization and analytical tools - Spotfire, Tableau, SQL, MS BI will be an advantage

Other Requirements:

- May require occasional travel

- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate workload and multiple time zones as needed

- Proficient in English, both written and verbal

Job Requirements:

Education:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

- Master's degree or postgraduate qualification

Experience:

- 2-4 years of experience in Technology, Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications (TMT) strategy, business analysis, industry research, management consulting or business performance
