EY- GDS CCaSS - Manager - ESG Reporting Managed Services
As part of our EY-Managed Services Team, the Manager will be responsible for working closely with CCaSS (Climate Change and Sustainability) Senior Managers and leadership on clients and engagements across our global regions to provide end to end ESG Reporting services.
The Opportunity
The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Managed Services team is part of the global firm. We are looking for a passionate, high energy, and self-motivated individual who is accustomed to working independently and collaboratively on small and large projects in a close-knit team. The team is at the core of the Firm's strategy, working with industries and practice areas to orchestrate the ESG delivery efforts and solve the most complex challenges in more cohesive, consistent, and exponentially powerful ways.
We're looking for an incumbent who is accountable for the timeliness and quality of work performed in accordance with project requirements for our Managed Services team and has extensive ESG knowledge in accordance with various frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD regulatory guidelines such as SFDR, NFRD, BRSR and upcoming guidelines such as CSRD in Europe
Your key responsibilities
- Strong program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Demonstrate and apply strong knowledge of ESG management frameworks.
- Use advanced excel skills to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to draw conclusions and develop strategic recommendations.
- Work directly with global teams to support ESG and Firm leadership in driving the ESG Reporting managed service mandates.
- Work with ESG leaders to define success metrics, establish tracking processes, develop, and manage KPIs.
- Own, plan, and manage assigned projects, which will include collaboration and coordination with a variety of stakeholders across global businesses, industries/sectors, and member firms and leading project teams in GDS to deliver on engagements.
- Manage and coach junior team members; assist with monitoring capacity utilization, recognition, motivation, and performance management.
- Promote best practice and knowledge sharing among global team members.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with global counterparts.
- Support and help develop overall team/project management efforts across all ESG priorities.
Skills and attributes for success
- Ability to integrate and synthesize large sets of data and broad stakeholder perspectives into meaningful recommendations.
- Ability to manage operational performance and reporting cycles (e.g., oversight of KPIs, management of global sprints/workplans, etc.).
- Must have experience in handling & analysing all Sustainability / ESG report related data.
- Must have knowledge of sustainability and GHG reporting, for example the GRI Standards, CSRD, ISSB, GHG Protocol, SASB, CDP, DJSI, TCFD, SDGs and IIRC Framework and regulatory guidelines such as SFDR, NFRD, BRSR and upcoming guidelines such as US SEC, TNFD etc.
- Strong proficiency in design of framework and metrics, data sourcing and analysis, data aggregation and calculation mechanisms, ESG report / disclosure preparation, with prior sustainability experience.
- Ability to conduct materiality, double materiality and gap assessments, and developing roadmap/implementation plan for the client.
- Knowledge of ESG data vendor landscape and assurance concepts would be a plus.
- Knowledge of any ESG tools like Envizi, Enablon etc would be a plus.
- Strong presentation and verbal and written communication skills, and experience communicating to, and working with, virtual teams, and senior leadership.
- Ability to thrive in a complex and fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong proficiency in project management, stakeholder management and team management.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and strong team player.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn new solutions, approaches, and methodologies for project delivery.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Master's degree e.g. MBA, M.Tech.
- 7-10 years relevant experience including experience in ESG and Sustainability reporting, Financial reporting or experience working in corporate strategy.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Proficiency in MS - Excel, MS - Office.
- Knowledge of tools round data management (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. R, python), visualisation platforms (e,g. Tableau, Power BI) will be additional advantage.
- Strong communication, Interpersonal, Analytical Skills & highly proactive in approach.
