Manager - Financial Services - Business Insights
Job Summary :
The Domain Analyst is responsible for delivering impactful analysis and insight for the BCM domain, in accordance with the key sector priorities, including :
- Business development, account planning and delivery
- Regional, service-line and sector strategy
- Building expertise of practitioners in specific banking subsectors, with responsibility for leading some of these
- Market facing thought leadership, point of views and blogs
- This role requires the ability to combine analytical skills and a strategic mindset with real-world perspective driven by an understanding of both clients' experiences and broader marketplace drivers. This position also requires awareness and understanding of EY Knowledge's full suite of products and services to ensure internal customers and stakeholders have visibility of the broad array of EY Knowledge support available to them and support execution of the IKP.
- Analysts work closely with the Domain SPOC, Domain Lead Analyst and Knowledge Managers to support the domain's leadership and other senior stakeholders, providing impactful research, analysis and insight to help EY differentiate itself in the marketplace. The Analyst will work closely with knowledge specialists in other domains (e.g. in another sector, service line or geography) to deliver on cross-sector / cross-service line topics and initiatives.
- This individual will be a BCM domain expert and help to ensure the quality and delivery of outputs by knowledge team members located throughout the world to support the specific domain's initiatives.
- As a team leader within the GDS-FS team, the individual will also be career counselor and people manager responsible for skill development, performance management, and recruitment. The individual will also have certain business development and content activation responsibilities for content produced by the team.
Key Requirements :
Education:
- MBA/Master's degree or postgraduate qualification preferable
- Bachelor's degree and applicable relevant work experience can also be considered
- Experience:
- Minimum 7 to 9 years of experience in strategy, business analysis, industry research, management consulting or business performance, advising organizations in the relevant domain.
- Possess deep understanding of the applicable domain, strong analytical skills and the ability to develop a point of view.
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and interfacing with stakeholders and internal customers at different levels of seniority.
- Willingness to build a network of internal contacts to help support domain and broader business objectives.
- Previous experience of working on domain databases (as applicable - maybe sector specific).
- Collaborative and able to work well as part of a geographically dispersed multidisciplinary and multicultural project team.
- Proficient in English with well-structured oral and written communications skills; able to explain difficult concepts in a clear, concise and graphic-rich style, using appropriate analytics and visualization tools.
- Ability to take ownership for delivering customized projects with a degree of autonomy; adept at leading several projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable with occasional travel and working flexible hours, across multiple time zones.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
- Ability to synthesize and analyze information coherently and succinctly. Able to bring together a variety of perspectives and sources across the domain to deliver compelling analysis that supports business priorities.
- Confident in understanding multiple business drivers and talented at defining the root causes of trends.
- Capable at identifying issues and trends that translate into key market-facing initiatives and opportunities for EY.
- Demonstrates ability to use both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies, including financial analysis skills, to synthesize information, review data inputs and provide analytic insights
- Adept at using strategically sound analytical methodologies and capable at coaching less-experienced team members to improve their skills in research, analysis, data analytics and visualization.
- Understands the firm's go-to-market strategy and service delivery models, how core business services support the service lines, and how knowledge enables exceptional client service and high performing teams.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Power BI. Good experience with large sets of data sets. Experience with data modelling, data analytics, and various data management tools is a plus.
Supervision Responsibilities :
- May help to lead multidisciplinary teams, often working virtually across service lines and geographies
- Limited direct supervision responsibility but must help to cultivate a high-performance teaming environment with analysts in a global, multicultural and virtual environment
- Reviews the work of colleagues and mentors their skills development
- May serve as counselor or manager for other analysts and specialists
