Finance PBFA Associate Director-Global Consulting (finance transformation and FP&A)


This role will be a key member of the Consulting finance team - working with closely with the Global Finance Team and Global Consulting CFO to provide critical thinking on business direction, operating performance and financial results - as well as taking ownership of finance input into key strategic workstreams.

You must have a strong technical skillset and R&A background who is able to work closely with the SL team and leadership to develop the business knowledge to help support the application of technical skills to the business, resulting in best-in-class financial analysis and financial models. Success in this role will be based around your ability to learn and understand the Consulting business and work with Consulting Leadership and Finance to support, drive and problem solve around the delivery of our strategic priorities. You should therefore possess excellent communication and project management skills - as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as required - with the credibility to become a trusted business advisor for Consulting leadership.

Your key responsibilities:

- Help provide financial analysis services and recommendations to Global, Area and Service Line leadership in support of business planning, operational decision-making, and financial outlook.

- Help deliver monthly performance deliverables for respective business, adding insight, financial analysis, and commentary.

- Analyze and present complex financial data in a way that is easily understandable. Pro-actively suggest ways to solve problems and to display presentations.

- Develop and support the delivery of presentations that engage audiences, responding to questions and concerns arising

- Contribute to a robust month end reporting process, and ensure commentaries are timely, insightful and action oriented.

- Be the 'Go To' contact for financial and operational issues while supporting the SL, SSL and Region Leaders and act as a trusted business adviser. Develop effective working relationships with the extended Finance team and leadership, becoming a key point of contact.

- Respond to requests from Finance and SL Leadership to answer specific ad hoc financial questions and provide insightful information to advance leadership discussion and decision making. Support the design and delivery of ad hoc financial analysis.

- Provide support to SL run initiatives as well as Finance run initiatives such as Smart Delivery initiatives, Gross Margin improvement, Integrated Planning, etc.

- Act as counsellor and coach to FP&A professionals as required, supporting development and demonstration of Trusted Business Advisor competencies of the team.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

- A strong understanding of corporate financial management and financial planning and analysis is required.

- Strong technical skills with the ability to analyze problems, design and implement solutions independently.

- Advanced EY reporting tool skills (e.g. FR, Markets, Power BI, ThoughtSpot)

- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills - Pivot, v-look ups and ability to manipulate and draw trends from vast amounts of data.

- Highly team-oriented approach, with flexibility regarding tasks undertaken and the ability to prioritize a number of conflicting demands to meet exacting deadlines.

- Strong interpersonal skills - can work alongside and gain the trust and respect of stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

- Credibility and confidence to challenge and propose better ways of doing things as well as build bridges and harmonize divergent interests and priorities.

- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal; excellent presentation and client advisory skills.

- Flexibility for limited travel.

- Strong spoken and written English.

Ideally, you'll also have:

Graduate and/or professional certification in a business-related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance).
