EY - Director - Engineering

Director - Engineering will collaborate with Product Management, existing engineering teams and other stakeholders to help design, develop, deploy and maintain a highly available, fault tolerant, SaaS offering. This position has the opportunity to make a significant and direct impact on our products and solve some of the most complex challenges. This position will be involved in roadmap planning, design and development of scalable software.

Primary Responsibilities

- Service ownership (design, delivery and production support) of the SaaS offering that protects virtualization and cloud native workloads hosted in the cloud.

- Collaborate with engineering leaders, product management and strategic partners to define and deliver on the technical strategy and product vision

- Collaborate with escalations, customer support, sales and sales engineering to enable the best customer outcomes - both existing and new acquisitions.

- Active mentoring of engineers to enable the best practices and principles of high quality SaaS development. Drive the focus on end-to-end service ownership (discovery, delivery and post production support)

- Continuously assess newer and emerging technologies/customer use cases. Play the role of a player/coach with the engineering team to take an idea from proving the concept, prototyping, piloting the feature to finally delivering a generally available solution.

- Defines practical architectural, design and coding guidelines as engineering best practices.

- Focuses on all aspects of engineering - development, quality, performance and security.

- Building a data driven culture that focuses on measuring and improving on key metrics defined by the team with a focus on operational excellence through continuous improvement. The metrics should focus on all aspects of the team including, but not limited to the health of the service in production, insights into customer usage, quality, engineering productivity and delivery processes.

- Presents at technical conferences, campuses to market Druva's technical edge and excellence

- Builds out a strong intellectual property portfolio in the area of expertise
