Roles and Responsibilities

The position requires a person to identify appropriate statistical and modeling techniques to answer the most critical business questions and use their analysis to infer well substantiated business insights in support of the clients' decision making in BFSI, CPG and Retail.

The responsibilities include :

1. Portfolio of skills covering a wide range of advanced statistical and machine learning techniques for classification, prediction, recommendation, clustering, time series forecasting, as well as data management, data visualization, and optimization

2. Data manipulation, wrangling, summarizing, predictive and prescriptive analytics in SAS

3. Take accountability and ownership of end-to-end data science solution design, technical delivery, and measurable business outcome

4. Engage in stakeholder meetings to identify business objectives and scope solution requirements

5. Independently write, document, and deploy custom code in a variety of environments to create predictive analytics applications

6. Business impact assessments and gap analyses

7. Developing expertise in team through knowledge sharing and other training activities

8. Actively supporting in identifying sales opportunities in the BFSI Frauds and Risk market to the preparation of proposals/tenders and presentations for these clients.

9. Identifying innovative solutions on projects / engagements to enhance / renew service offerings to client

10. Preparing and delivering of training material to internal and external stakeholders

11. Contributing to thought leadership and sharing of knowledge and expertise with clients, colleagues, and teams

12. Managing client engagements and maintaining oversight of all engagements / projects within sphere of responsibility

13. Empowering analysts through appropriate delegation of work

14. Strong Project management and interpersonal skills

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology/Statistics or MCA

2. 5- 8 years of data analyses and SAS scripting experience in BFSI/CPG/Retail industry

Key Competencies

1. Excellent hands-on experience of SAS programming with proficiency in Base/Advanced SAS and SAS MACRO

2. Proficiency in working and querying large data sets using SQL

3. Experience in SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Studio, SAS Model Studio, SAS Forecasting Studio, SAS visual analytics, SAS Reporting Solution

4. Data modelling and Management, integration and manipulation of large disparate datasets (i.e. structured, semi-structured or unstructured)

5. Hands on experience on feature reduction, selection techniques; optimization techniques; predictive techniques like linear regression, logistic regression, SVM, random forest, GBM, XGBOOST along with hyperparameter tuning; time series forecasting using ARMA, ARIMA, exponential smoothing, moving averages etc.

6. Experience in designing, building, testing, and validating models using several statistical and other quantitative techniques

7. Experience in working on cloud environments as AWS, Azure, etc.

8. Good problem-solving skills and understanding of business dynamics

9. Excellent communication skills and experience in report writing skills are desirable

10. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

1. Strong skills in databases, statistical packages for data manipulation and in development of predictive and prescriptive models (i.e. R, Python, SPSS)
