GDS SaT - Associate Director - Transaction Diligence
Within SaT, Transaction Diligence (TD) services encompass the strategic development and execution of an appropriate transaction structure, which includes execution of financial due diligence projects during mergers, acquisitions, divestitures or fund raise. Our team works to understand business and margin drivers and trends, assumptions of future performance, and assists with purchase agreements and post-closing transaction matters. TD professionals work on buy-side diligence and provide sell-side diligence services for private equity and global corporate clients. This helps clients maximize value, mitigate risks and achieve their strategic goals, in acquisition and divestiture deals.
The opportunity:
We're looking for an Associate Director with expertise in Financial Due Diligence, external statutory audit with big 4 public accounting firm and/or experience with mergers and acquisitions transactions or in the field of financial planning and analysis to join the high growth TD team. In this role you will get an understanding of financial due diligence and how it impacts deal valuation during a merger, acquisition or divestiture. You will be responsible for leading a region including managing client relationships, business development and service
delivery. You will manage a team of 100-120 professionals and take ownership of your technical and softer skill development. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a prominent firm and develop your career through a broad scope of engagements, mentoring, and learning & development.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develops deep and enduring relationships with key customers. Generates ideas for new services and talent initiatives
- Develop strategic direction (short/medium/long term) for the TD team
- Measure, monitor and improve client service delivery by guiding team members and driving excellence in service delivery
- Assists in capacity planning, competency mapping and recruitment of resources for the assigned teams
- Focus teams on the key priorities while managing several large to medium-size projects
- Identify, develop and implement best practices in projects
- Assist in negotiating conflicting priorities and expectations of team members
- Provide expert reviews for all projects within the assigned subject
- Ensuring smooth service delivery within the defined geographical area
- Manage efficiency and productivity of team members on a day-to-day basis. Ensures adherence to SaT work-flow protocol and tools.
Skills and attributes for success:
- Financial diligence experience
- Basic knowledge of M&A lifecycle
- Relevant experience in external audit working with a public accounting firm and/or mergers and acquisitions transactions or experience in the field of financial planning and analysis
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong drive to take new initiatives and ability to adapt to new situations and ideas
- Advanced knowledge and experience in any of the following sectors will be an added advantage - Financial Services, Oil and Gas, Technology, Consumer Products, Power and Utilities and Life Science
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and teaming skills.
- Willingness to travel, when necessary
- Experience in leading large teams is a plus but must have team building attributes
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Chartered Accountancy degree or MBA in Finance from a premier institute with 14- 16 years of experience
- Relevant experience in FDD/ external audit working with a public accounting firm and/or mergers and acquisitions transactions experience or experience in the field of financial planning and analysis
Ideally, you'll also have:

- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail
