Our client is a top manufacturing & export company in Kolkata.
Position vacant : Export Manager
Location : Kolkata
Education: Preferably from B.Sc. (Agri or Allied) / B.Tech (Agri Eng.) / BBA in international business. MBA in Export Management reputed institution.
Experience:
- Prior experience in export operations, international sales, or related fields is desirable. Candidates with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in export management or international trade may be preferred.
- Experience in negotiating contracts and dealing with international customers and suppliers is essential.
Knowledge of International Trade: Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, export documentation, INCO terms, and international payment methods (e.g., letters of credit, documentary collections) is essential.
Market Knowledge: Familiarity with global markets, including key export destinations, market trends, competitive landscape, and cultural nuances, is must. The ability to conduct market research, identify market opportunities, and develop export strategies is needed.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions is must. Should be able to solving complex problems, handling unexpected challenges, and implementing effective solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Developing export market at various countries and maintaining existing business.
2. Developing Export Strategies: Creating and implementing strategies to maximize export sales and profitability.
3. Managing Export Operations: Overseeing all aspects of the export process, including logistics, documentation, customs clearance, and shipping. Ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and maintaining efficient export procedures.
4. Negotiating Contracts: Negotiating terms and conditions of contracts with overseas customers, distributors, and suppliers. This includes pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
5. Building and Managing Relationships: Establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as customers, distributors, freight forwarders, and government agencies. Cultivating long-term partnerships to facilitate smooth export transactions.
6. Forecasting and Planning: Analyzing market trends, demand patterns, and competitor activities to forecast future export opportunities. Developing sales forecasts and production plans to meet export targets.
7. Budgeting and Cost Control: Creating and managing budgets for export activities, including transportation costs, customs duties, and other expenses.
8. Providing Market Intelligence: Monitoring changes in market conditions, trade policies, and competitor strategies.
9. Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with export operations, such as currency fluctuations, political instability, and supply chain disruptions. Implementing risk management strategies to safeguard the company's interests.
