Operations Excellence Consultant

The Operations Excellence Consultant will be responsible for driving efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement across the operations function within the speciality and agro-chemicals industry.

This individual will apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to optimize supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics processes.

Role Purpose: The role focuses on reducing costs, improving product quality, enhancing operational workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Improvement:

- Lead the design and implementation of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence.

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency gains, waste elimination, and quality improvement across manufacturing and supply chain processes.

- Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives that align with business objectives and industry best practices.

- Conduct time and motion studies, root cause analysis, and process mapping to identify operational bottlenecks.

Supply Chain Optimization:

- Collaborate with procurement, production planning, and logistics teams to optimize the supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.

- Implement strategies to reduce lead times, improve inventory management, and enhance supplier performance.

- Ensure alignment of operational processes with sustainability goals, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.

Manufacturing Efficiency:

- Oversee the design and implementation of best practices in manufacturing processes to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

- Drive automation and digital transformation projects to enhance production efficiency and product traceability.

- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production yield, cycle time, and defect rates.

Quality Assurance:

- Work closely with the quality assurance team to establish and maintain high standards for product quality.

- Implement systems to track, analyze, and report quality issues, ensuring timely resolution and prevention of recurring problems.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications (e.g., ISO, HACCP, FSSC 22000).

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Partner with R&D, marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure operations align with business objectives and customer needs.

- Provide training and support to staff in the principles of operational excellence, ensuring knowledge transfer and skill development.

Project Management:

- Manage multiple operational excellence projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

- Provide regular project updates to senior management, including performance reports and recommended actions.

- Facilitate communication between teams to ensure smooth project execution and stakeholder buy-in.
