- Experian's Strategy & Innovation team, which sits within Asia Pacific, are looking for a Product Development Lead. You are a problem solver who collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to understand business and customer needs, identify and prioritize opportunities, articulate a vision for great product experiences, and make compelling arguments to support that vision.

- At Experian, Product Development plays a fundamental role in accelerating our growth by leading our hypothesis-driven customer discovery process. You will determine which product lines are worth further investment, what new products need to be built, and how to prioritize development. You will lead Project Managers and Data and Software Engineering teams, and at times you will act as the - CEO- of a product area, potentially a new one you have identified, and own the development and growth of that product into a business line for Experian.

Scope of the role will cover:-

- Work in an agile delivery / lean startup way and deliver minimal viable products to beta clients and learn from customer feedback to iterate on product build.

- You will accelerate our product build and delivery out of APAC, and work closely with our Innovation team

- Help define, evaluate, and test new product concepts that enable unique customer experiences and new revenue opportunities for our clients

- Lead product strategy activities at the project level, including client workshops, stakeholder interviews, landscape research, and key performance indicator development

- Reframe and solve business problems using a design mindset and translate what the client wants to achieve into generative product briefs for our teams

- Use strategy to help clients envision and build their future through impactful products

- Contribute to the shape and definition of product strategy activities throughout engagements at the project level

- Be part of a growing team doing innovative product work for a diverse set of clients, from startups to Fortune 500 companies

- Leverage open source technology and be comfortable to experiment and explore new ideas, and share your learnings

- Reviewing Global delivery documentation and processes and leading the work to adapt and localize as required

- Facilitate project estimation, key risks and issues identification, review business requirements

- Plan and execute build work in a continuous delivery and agile way

- Working in a fast-paced environment - the team is in start-up mode - so leaning in is required - it is dynamic and changing and requires flexibility but has well defined strategic goals to achieve.

- Work with multiple personalities and skill sets (think x-men characters), including product strategists, business analysts, technical analysts, data engineers, technical architects, software developers and data scientists. Work with teams across:

Australia, NZ, India, Japan, China & select countries in SEA region such as Malaysia, and Europe.

Day to day hands on Project Management is required, and working closely with the small in country delivery teams to:

1) Identify and work through risks and issues with them

2) Support project delivery teams to achieve milestones - including helping them to achieve and complete deliveries within budget

3) Share learnings across region to help grow delivery knowledge and experience

4) Work with global resource and knowledge to identify solutions to APAC issues

5) Work through identifying appropriate delivery resource across markets to solve specific problems

6) Development of the customer delivery and application support.

7) Help kick start project - developing project charters and plans for the delivery teams

Able to investigate issues, identify impacts and route causes and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and drive out pragmatic solutions

Provide input into RFP's / RFI's from a Delivery and Support point of view.

Key Responsibilities

- Adhere to Experian policies and procedures, while working under the Experian behaviours and values

- Directly / indirectly manage a team of sales professionals in the assigned region

- Facilitate and drive high performance culture

- Champion a culture where the fair treatment of customers is at the heart of the Experian business. Ensure that by leading by example, you adhere to all regulatory requirements and apply appropriate controls in the interests of customers. Through the adoption of a top down approach, demonstrate a culture where all of our people understand their regulatory obligations, including what the fair treatment of customer's means to them and our organisation.

- Deliver projects on budget to resource effort estimates as at baseline + approved change requests

- Clearly manage and report resource overrun by activity and phase

- Identify, escalate and document in a timely fashion all project changes to scope, schedule, effort and cost

- Proactively identify risks to the project and implement mitigating actions and deal with issues to reduce project impact

- Ensure resources delivery project tasks on time or ahead of schedule according to the plan

- Demonstrate project-to-project improvement in personal efficiency. (ie. Less meetings, document and template re-use reducing project timeline without a reduction in project control outcomes)

- Optimise project in-flight projects by identifying scheduling and resourcing improvements to achieve project outcomes for reduced effort

- Maintain a high level of mutual respect and open communication with the client stakeholders at all levels of the project (team, PM and executive sponsors)

- Complete project reports, financial tracking and resource management deliverables etc. consistently on time to a high level of quality

Keep actively engaged and communicate clearly and in a timely fashion with senior stakeholders both internally and externally regarding project status and execution

Candidate Profile :

Experience :

We are looking for someone who;

- Strong background and a minimum 7+ project management in business or software development scenario

- Experience in the financial services sector highly regarded

- Experience in startup environment

- Experience delivering new products / services end to end

- Agile project management experience

- A broad and deep knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies supporting the solutions

- Consultative experience and attitude; experience in developing technical solutions

- Understanding of appropriate technology components.

- Strong communication skills - both written, oral and presentation in English

- Experience and ability to lead a project involving other technological competencies

- Experian product knowledge

- Able to drive consulting engagements, help designing and running proofs of concepts

- Hold industry certifications, accreditations or specialisations and willingness to maintain and broaden them

- Teamworker, performance driven individual & excellent time-management skills

- Used to work under tight time pressure, great sense of priority management

- Retail banking Credit management applications experience

- Preferably some vendor experience

- High level of communication and personal presence

- Theoretical and practical project management knowledge

- Knowledge of techniques and tools

- Always pushing for the best possible ideas and solutions

- A persuasive and clear communicator, both visual and verbal

- Committed to a product's success through initial launch and multiple iterations

- Deeply familiar with agile, lean and human-centered design methodologies
