EXL Service - Financial Research

The role involves assisting onshore Finance stakeholders in preparing business cases for initiatives / funding of projects (on Excel, can require IRR calculations) and generating quarterly/monthly MIS for revenues. This role works very closely with the Finance teams and requires comfort working in MS Excel. The detailed description of day to day activities is below:

1. Forecasting the credit card portfolio drivers for planning/ budgeting activity- using moving average/ linear regression methodologies. Also includes explaining the monthly forecast vs actual variance analysis for the credit card metrics

2. Valuation of initiatives- Project IRR (Internal Rate of Return)/ NPV (Net present value) calculation for business initiatives

3. Creating yearly performance P&Ls (product wise/ FICO/ affiliate wise) for new product launches based on historical data and assumptions

4. MIS- Monthly/ Quarterly reporting (spreadsheet mainly) and Tableau based business visualization

5. Assisting the onshore team in documentation for the stress testing activity and impact on various line items in P&L with changes in the macro economic variables

6. Other adhoc analysis to be performed that includes deep dive into the trend data along with the reason for the same (like why a card is performing better than other, why spend growth is increasing or decreasing etc)

7. Interactions with business folks and providing them analytics support and insights
