POSITION TITLE: Senior Manager - Legal

Position Summary (Comprehensive summary of what the job exists to accomplish) Drafting, vetting and negotiating commercial agreements, policy terms and conditions. Drafting responses to legal notices/ advisory services/ opinions to internal departments
Key Accountabilities :
- Drafting of business agreements, contract management, and legal risk management. Negotiating, drafting and execution of all commercial and procurement contract
- Drafting and vetting policy documents, proposal forms, agency terms and conditions, corporate agency agreements, broker agreements and other intermediary agreements
- Assisting in dealing with laws applicable to a Life Insurance Company
- Drafting & vetting of written communication with internal and external customers
- Assist and independently draft and negotiate and finalize Agreements/ documentation
- Advise and reviews products and marketing materials of the company from the legal point of view
- Drafting Terms and conditions, reviewing other product documents offered by the Company and ensuring the quality and compliance with the Regulator
- Managing timely responses to legal notices/ advisory services/ opinions to internal departments
- Drafting and vetting of documents and providing advisory support
- Prepare documentation and handle correspondence & routine legal matters with internal customers
- Active involvement in drafting, reviewing & improving the standard documents such as agreements, contracts, NDA, letter of intent, manuals etc.
- Drafting, vetting letters and replies to Customers, IRDA and various other statutory authorities
- Streamlining the existing process after identifying the gaps
- Cross-functional engagement such as timely replies to police authorities, appearances before the police station, submission of statements u/s 161 Cr.P.C., pleadings, attend effective hearings, briefing to advocates and ensure favorable results for the Company
- Comprehensive reply and representation before Ombudsman, Consumer court, and other Government bodies. Well versed in Arbitrations
- Assisting on regulatory and compliance management
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications (Framework required by the position)
- Graduate (LLB Graduates Preferred) with 5+ years of experience in Insurance/Financial Sector, LLM would be an added advantage
- Proficient in both spoken and written English
- Good command over the English language and drafting skills
- Understanding of scope of services and operations
- Should be open to new ideas and bring best practices to the organization
- Expertise in the system - Windows office/basics in tech information
