Roles and Responsibilities :
- Provide expert guidance and advice to clients on GST applications for various business transactions,such as sales,purchases,exports and imports.
- Advise clients on the applicability of GST provisions to specific scenarios such as reverse charge mechanism, place of supply etc.
- Provide clear and practical recommendations to clients, backed by sound reasoning and interpretation of GST laws and rulings.
- Assist clients in GST registration, migration and related compliance processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required forms and documentation.
- Prepare and file periodic GST returns including GSTR-1 (outward supplies), GSTR-3B (summary return) and annual returns ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
- Perform regular reviews and audits of clients financial recordsto ensure proper GST reporting and compliance including reconciling input tax credits with vendor invoices and resolving any discrepancies.
- Conduct Internal audits of clients GST processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure robust compliance controls.
- Act as a representative for clients during GST audits, inquiries or disputes with tax authorities, including accompanying clients during on-site inspections or hearings.
- Prepare necessary documentation such as audit responses, reconciliations and supporting records to effectively represent clients positions and demonstrate compliance.
- Respond to queries from tax authorities and provide comprehensive support throughout the audit or dispute resolution process including explaining transactions, clarifying GST treatment and addressing any concerns raised.
- Liase effectively with tax authorities, engaging in professional and consecutive dialogue to resolve issues and protect clients interests.
Desired Candidate Profile :
- CA with 1-3 years of post qualification experience in Indirect tax
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and tax authorities
- Proficiency in using GST software and familiarity with accounting software (eg Tally,SAP,etc)
- Proficiency in MS Excel or other spreadsheet software for data analysis
- Sound knowledge of Indian GST laws, regulations and filing procedures
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify GST implications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation
- Ability to work independently as well as with team and meet deadlinesin a fast-paced environment
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on GST developments and regulations.
