Role: Bid Management
Qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Software Development or related field (Master's degree, a plus)
Role Description: The primary responsibility is to identify opportunities for bid submissions and ensure that the responses are clean, competitive, compliant, and compelling.
An ideal candidate is tech-savvy, with proven experience in bid management, and good knowledge of tendering requirements and legalities within the UK public sector contracts sector.
- Conduct detailed research to assess and identify right opportunities for bid submission
- Advise and support the bidding process by conducting the required market analysis, competitor analysis
- Collaborate with all the key contributors within the organization to obtain the information required to compile the bid
- Coordinate with the required resources within company to produce professional, and compelling proposals
- Assist the Sales and BST teams with documentation support and verification throughout the bid preparation process
- Respond to internal stakeholder queries before, during and after the bid has been submitted
- Identify and initiate ways to develop and improve the company's tendering processes
Experience:
- At least 3-4 years of industry experience as a bid writer, especially in relation to software development and tech resourcing
- A track record of success in previous bid management/coordination roles; preferably in the UK Public Sector for technology related tenders
- Demonstrated strong experience in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience in using online bidding platforms and portals
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in end-to-end opportunity management
- Good understanding and experience with different stages of software development, including requirements specification, development, quality assurance, and deployment
- Knowledge of best practices on how to manage complex bids with a proven ability in planning, multi-tasking, producing and delivering complex documents within a short span of time
- Advanced writing and verbal communication skills, capable of handling complex conversations with the top management of the organization
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while working on multiple bids
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and willingness to follow a "handson/can do" approach
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a dynamic work environment
Good to Have:
- Previous work experience in the software industry, ideally with software development businesses
- MS Office, particularly advanced levels of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
