Role: Business Architect
Experience: 7 to 12 Years
Location: Chennai
Minimum 7 Years of Business/Solutions Architecture experience across B/OSS products
7 to 10 years working at a Telco/MSO, SI, OSS/BSS ISV.
Well-developed knowledge and understanding of the global telecommunications marketplace, from both technical and business perspectives
Demonstrated knowledge of one or more Communications Service Provider markets
Demonstrated knowledge of one or more major local, access, or backbone network communications technologies, including TDM/PDH, SONET/SDH, PSTN/Voice, Dialup/DSL/Dedicated IP, Backbone IP, MPLS, IP VPN, FR/ATM, DWDM, etc.
Experience delivering solutions for Communication Service Providers
Minimum of 5 years experience with large-scale telecom BSS, OSS, or NMS applications such as Billing, Order Management, Customer Care, Circuit Design/Assign, Provisioning, Network Inventory, Network/Element Management, Outside Plant
Technical experience working with a Communications Service Provider in Order Processing, Operations, Engineering, or an IT group closely aligned with one of the above
Some IT and/or software development experience in one or more of the following areas: large-scale, mission-critical applications, network management systems, Operations Support Systems, general large-scale system architecture, large-scale databases
Knowledge and experience with long-term carrier software sales process
Experience working with and/or for a growing software vendor
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong strategic and analytical skills
Ability to work as part of a team to solve complex technical problems and work with accounts in complex environments
Provide technical authority clout by considering different design options before recommending one
Ability to understand complex organizations and develop consultative selling and delivery skills
Business-like presence and ability to interact professionally with customers at all organization levels
Ability to moderate and lead design meetings with customers IT, Network and Business departments.
Problem Management:
Problem identification: Capability to identify both short term and long term issues that already exists or it is apparent that will happen.
Such issues can be related not just to part of product line but can be more broadly defined e.g. future development of particular telecommunication standard and its implication on market repositioning of product (or its part) under his responsibility.
Ability to present such issues to CEO/Head of Product Management in understandable manner.
Problem solving: Capability to identify optimal solution by means of evaluation of various models or by creative/disruptive solution. (e.g. by finding optimal (the lowest impact) solution or by coming with completely new type of solution)
Responsibility:
Capability to make decisions on tactical level.
Capability to present key factors that led to choice of particular decision to CEO/Head of Product Management
Capability to undertake primary responsibility for tactical steps and capability to delegate individual sub tasks to subordinate employees as well as capability to control results of such delegation and analyze its impact on respective tactical activity.
Capability to deal with highly stress situations and capability to undertake fast but optimal decisions under such circumstances.
Capability to sustain mental pressure coming form conflict of tasks with various levels of priority.
Capability prioritize to individual tasks within state of shortage of resources and to propose optimal way of their fulfilment to PMTL or Director.
Soft-skills:
Capability to resolve conflict situations (can be conflict of valid but opposing interests) by communication and facilitation means.
Capability to manage, motivate and support subordinate employees by means of appropriate mixture of direct management, coaching and counselling.
Capability to support subordinate employees in areas of inter-company communication and problem resolution, skill development planning and career planning - all under guidance of CEO/Head of Product Management.
Capability to set up processes and practices for subordinate employees as well as negotiate joint processes and practices with other teams.
Very high negotiation skills.
Capability to consider various interests of involved players and find suitable solutions.
