ETL ARCHITECT

Job Purpose :

- A Specialist is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the field of data warehousing, ETL, Data migration and knowledge of Business Intelligence along with technical leadership for all the above needs on delivery projects. The person will be expected to recommend tools, shape up migration solution and help out with associated estimation and processes. A Specialist is also expected to contribute to the sales cycle for conceptualizing solutions and providing high level estimates.

- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to facilitate meetings with clients.

- Openness to frequent overseas travel.

Job Responsibilities :

- Drives solution conceptualization and development

- Utilizes deep understanding in the field of data warehousing, ETL, Data migration and knowledge of Business Intelligence along with design and principles in creating custom software solutions or implementing packages

- Challenges technical design for the given business problem when appropriate

- Works with delivery teams to improve their architecture and tool knowledge

- Establishes technical frameworks and approach for solution development

- Mentors the team members

- Helps resolve complex technical issues

- Shares best practices and lessons learnt across multiple teams

- Independently leads the estimation effort for the DW, ETL, data migration and related development pieces of an engagement

- Reviews estimates and identify gaps

- Prepares pieces of sales proposals and portrays Sapient technical expertise

Skill Requirements :

- Knowledge of databases, stored procedures and other features commonly used for large deployments, (including but not limited to): Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 etc.

- Strong data modeling skills

- Experience in creating logical/physical architectures

- Knowledge of different types of environments (development, staging, testing and production etc) and usage of those environments in the various stages of application development lifecycle

- Knowledge of ETL tools is a must - IBM DataStage, SQL Server Integration Services,Business Objects Data Integrator, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Warehouse Builder etc.

- Knowledge of BI tools is a plus.

- Knowledge of programming languages like Java in building custom data interfaces is desirable

- Knowledge of agile software development methodologies is desirable

Business Knowledge : Financial services domain experiences would be a plus.

Experience :

More than 8 years of experience with minimum 4 years in driving complex DW, ETL, data migration project design, UNIX, architecture solutions and implementation

Education : Full Time Bachelor's / Master's degree (Science or Engineering preferred)
