Title : Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)

Reports to: Director, Ethics & Compliance - Asia Pacific
Primary Function:
The Ethics & Compliance Officer is responsible for implementing the Global E&C Program in his/her respective country or entity. The ECO functions as an independent objective resource that reviews and evaluates ethics and compliance concerns within the country or entity. The ECO works with the Regional E&C Director and the Global CECO to help ensure compliance to regional regulations and translating global strategies into local level goals and strategies based on local needs and external regulatory environment
Essential Job Functions/Duties :
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of the organization's diverse business activities and Global Ethics & Compliance Program (Program).
- Partner with the Global CECO, Regional E&C Director and E&C Team to help ensure the Program effectively prevents and/or detects violations of law, policies, or the Code of Conduct.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on relevant global regulations affecting the company's business activities.
- Track upcoming laws and regulations related to country business activities to determine applicability and impact on current country business practices.
- Conduct a risk assessment to highlight areas of need for the country or entity.
- In collaboration with the Global E&C team and regional E&C training function, provide and coordinate appropriate guidance, education, training, and regular communications related to the Program to employees, vendors, and distributors based on job function.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Program policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct.
- In cooperation with the Global E&C team, develop country-specific monitoring and auditing plans.
- Provide reports to the CECO and senior regional management team on a regular basis.
- Establish a presence in relevant meetings throughout the country to maintain an awareness of current and future business activities.
- Participate in local, relevant trade organizations.
- Participate in professional development and update job knowledge related to life sciences ethics and compliance.
- Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, detail oriented, and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision.
- Participate in APAC management meetings.
- Must strictly adhere to safety requirements.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Must maintain company quality and quantity standards.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Work Experience/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA or Law degree preferred
- Ethics and compliance experience in healthcare required
- Fluency in English (must have strong verbal and written skills)
- Functional fluency in at least one Indian language (able to conduct presentations and training sessions, reading and writing)
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Experience in preparing and delivering training and other presentations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is essential
