Ethical Compliance Manager

Key accountabilities and measures:

- Support the Senior Ethical Compliance Manager to deliver the C&H Ethical and Plan A strategies across the business, driving industry leading and customer focused social and ethical programmes.

- Support the Senior Ethical Compliance Manager in implementing ethical audits, assessments and corrective actions plans as well as capacity building tools within the M&S Supply Chain, including HIGG Index FSLM (Facilities Social Labour Module).

- Conducting M&S Ethical Compliance audits in Tier 1 and Tier 2 factories, report preparation, updating

- PLM and Master Ethical Tracker, and uploading reports in SharePoint, audit CAP tracker monitoring, co- ordination meeting with factories and Business team.

- Implement ethical audits, assessments and corrective actions plans as well as capacity building tools within the Tier 1 and Tier 2 factories, including HIGG FSLM (Facilities Social Labour Module)

- Manage supplier audit data using Sedex and Higg Index. Ensure all suppliers are registered in Sedex/Higg Platform, with audit reports uploaded. Ensure supplier data is maintained and up to date.

- Sedex Self-Assessment and database monitoring, supplier linking, validation and rejection.

- Monitoring 3rd party based on Service Level Agreements, SMETA annual audit tracking monitoring, off-site audit if necessary and conduct 3rd party shadow audit.

- Third party audit report collection and reviewing, CAP collection/review from the factory.

- Conducting Ethical compliance audits at Tier-2 factories, FSLM self-assessment and verification progress, and CAP review

- Engage with Tier 1 and Tier 2 factories to follow up Ethical compliance improvement plans Training and develop employees in M&S approved factories to comply M&S Global Sourcing Principles (GSP).

- Training and awareness the suppliers on M&S auditing policy and M&S Ethical grading,

- Training arrangement and facilitation of Worldly enrolled factories, database monitoring and follow up.

- Work closely with UK & office colleagues and third-party auditors to coordinate audits from time to time

- Provide and collate data for the Interactive Map of Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, Benchmarks and public reporting.

- Support M&S project activities, monitoring, collecting information and report preparation from project stakeholders and factories and update to Senior Ethical Compliance Manager

- Investigating & report preparation if any compliant received from Media/Trade Union/ NGO/

- Anonymous complain from the factory.

- Monitoring the monthly general compliance information, PPT preparation for social compliance update, quarterly M&S production order percentage status update and half yearly wage analysis report.

- Licenses (Disney/Hasbro/UK Fashion and other licenses) onboarding process & monitoring.

- Maintain all relevant documentation to support reporting for internal and external purposes in line with key C&H measurements and targets, including audit ranking, programme worker numbers and impact measurements as well as allegation issues in the supply chain.

- Responsible for maintaining the M&S Global Sourcing Principles and ETI Base codes in M&S approved suppliers and factories.

- Ensure that the people who work in our supply chains are treated with dignity and fairness, their human rights are respected and promoted, and we deliver on our shared mission to be a net zero business.

- Work with supplier partners to raise standards and improve working conditions.

- Provide guidance and support to our supplier partners to help them understand our shared requirements and to put in place the policies and procedures needed to ensure our entire supply chains are environmentally responsible, fair, and ethical.

- Reserve the right to monitor our supplier partners' compliance with these Principles through self - assessment, due diligence reviews, worker voice programmes or audits.

- Capture data for the Modern Slavery report, Plan A and Annual report on ethical issues and human rights issues.

- Travel to all parts of India for audits and project monitoring.

- Any ad-hoc projects or duties assigned by the line manager upon business needs.

Key skills:

- Holding a Bachelor's degree, or relevant professional designation.

- Minimum 8 years relevant experience in internal or external audit role.

- SA 8000 / WRAP / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 or 3rd party accredited auditor qualification (APSCA)

- Conversant with Local government laws & regulations, Employment, Wages and Health & Safety laws

- Passion for Ethical trading and responsible sourcing and human rights and ethics

- Highly analytical, able to collate and interpret data (Sedex, Worldly, PLM, SAP), able to present results to support strategic thinking.

- Excellent communication skills within UK Ethical team, Supply Base and Global Sourcing Offices

- Excellent communication in English and local languages

- Confidence to travel local and overseas.

- Ability to learn new technical skills, absorb information and manage own personal development.

- High integrity

- Ability to ensure ethical standards are upheld while achieving the commercial needs of the business.

- Multi tasked orientated working to tight deadlines, understanding when to take decisions and when to seek guidance.
