General Manager - Procurement
Job Description :
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Dual Reporting directly to CEO & DGMD.
- In-charge of overseeing the entirely of the procurement Department.
- Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
- Manage organisational procurement budget after close discussion with marketing heads to understand their needs for products, price and schedules.
- Distribute the works to the purchase department on priority basis.
- Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers.
- Ensure to procuring proper material with high quality as well as cost effective for the company's requirement and procurement budget.
- Negotiating with suppliers to secure advantageous price & terms.
- Assessing the quality of products at every level before placing the order with new supplier.
- Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers to ensure on-going feasibility.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers.
- Approving purchase orders and ensuring products delivery/shipments as per agreed schedule to avoid stock-out situation.
- Evaluation and selection of new suppliers (based on their business history & capabilities)
- Analysing and evaluating the performance of suppliers on yearly basis.
- Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Develop and execute new improved procurement strategies across all channel of procurement.
- Frequent suppliers visit, regular communication with suppliers to maintain strong & long term relationships.
- Factory visits to ensure credential and genuine suppliers to introduce suppliers base & ensure product quality as well.
- Overseeing and managing the Logicure Software that track shipments and make MIS reports.
- Market survey & Market Data on Key products.
- Responsible for making sure all subordinates are objective, honest, hard working and adherent to company standards and policies to build a strong Procurement team.
Other details : 1) Qualification in Chemistry or chemical engineering
2) Min 10 years experience in buying/import of chemicals of which 5 years in senior level
3) Preferably working with Chemical distributor dealing with range of chemicals
4) Preference to candidates who have travelled abroad for sourcing of chemicals
5) Intimate knowledge of Chemical industry
6) Knowledge of logistics will be added advantage
7) Place of Posting : Preferably Delhi, alternatively Bangalore
8) Compensation : As per market standards
