Senior Manager- Legal
Job Purpose :
To handle all the litigation and non-litigation matters of the business along with legal issues, settlements, finance documents, employment contracts and routine business documents. Represent the company on the legal front and work with external counsels to manage and effectively handle all ongoing litigation matters of the company.
Accountabilities :
- Monitor the preparation of legal documents.
- Review of the legal documents.
- Respond to legal documents.
- Respond to the legal notices and queries.
Mitigate Risk :
- Analyse legal risk.
- Proactively implement framework to mitigate legal risk.
- Disposal of settlement/litigation.
Preparation of legal documents :
- Draft standard finance agreements, employment agreements and other related business contracts.
- Monitor the preparation of portfolio companies and their legal documents.
- Monitor the preparation of notices/contracts.
Negotiate agreement :
- Negotiate agreement that complied with company policies and risk tolerance.
Review, draft and negotiate :
- Licensing, purchase, services, supply chain, development, finance, employment and other agreements.
Legal advise :
- Providing legal advice internally to the concerned business head for necessary action.
- Providing legal advice in the matters of land procurement, disputed properties, finance queries, etc.
- Advise in legal matters of loans, purchase of shares, formation of JV's, multi jurisdictional business agreements.
Handle legal issues :
- Help the legal team to handle all employee/ contract employee law issues.
- Appoint team members to handle all outstanding litigations.
- Help take timely legal action and effectively defend the interests of the company.
Review policies :
- Conduct and coordinate research into various legal issues.
- Understand new policies and business risk/rewards from them.
- Suggest changes in the company policy if need be.

Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience :
- 8-10 years (functional).
Functional Skills :
- Ability to independently review and negotiate a plethora of corporate documents and agreements.
- Legal research and ability to form opinions keeping in mind the facts of the case and the latest judicial position/judgements.
- Assist the senior management with precise and timely updates and information on various legal updates and new positions of law.
- Proficiency in reviewing and negotiating finance agreements, employment agreements and other business related agreements.
